A heim joint would work... but that would transmit a lot of shock to the mounts without the giant rubber bushing.
If all we are doing is retaining the "bone" in the case of rubber failure, and the heat of welding doesn't cause an issue, the rebar/bolt should do fine.
I got to get inside FiFi back in the 80's as a kid at the old High on Kalamazoo airshows. I love that bird.
They just re-engined her with r3350s out of the Skyraiders... the old engines were metal chewing monsters that liked to catch fire, but the later models had all the bugs worked out.

I like that truck on the 395s...
Everybody learns what works after the find out what doesn't. Nobody got hurt, nothing destroyed...
Nice looking trucks.
What's the thermostat's rated temp? If it's <190f it never opened... or if the bottom hose collapsed when it did open, nothing circulated. (You would have to check it running and hot, but most lower hoses have a rib or coil inside you can feel even when cold to prevent such collapsing from...
Thanks!
She should come home at the end of the month, or the first of the year depending... (I picked one a bit more expensive than I was prepared for.) I chose this one:
I will have a lot of work ahead of me before she looks half as good as yours. I must say, reading your build and seeing...
Nope! I asked first. He has two other businesses, and this seems to be an overgrown hobby for him that has become another one. He was laughing that if he was retired he would have a lot more MVs.
He said he just hasn't had the extra time to really advertise or build up a website/storefront for...
I posted the issues I had when checking out "Real Man Toys" in Kalamazoo in that thread... But last weekend I also went to see a man named Dennis Myers in Copemish, Michigan

Thank you for declaring your intent... I'll at least know where to look for it.
Honestly, most car thieves I have seen use a tow dolly/tow truck and just drag the thing. I'm not worried about that with a Deuce!
I am worried about people tearing it up trying to steal batteries, fuel and...
In my mustang I used a 30a momentary contact switch hidden, and routed to the neutral start safety switch.... the same could be done with the starter solenoid lead in a deuce. The door locks are a great product as well. If they can't get in without breaking something, and even if they do they...
After reading these horror stories, I can honestly say how glad I am to live free of HOAs and such nonsense. I would be going downtown and importing bums, hookers, and crack dealers to the subdivision just to spite the nazis if I ever had to deal with that kind of abuse.
You are better men than I.
Yep... find every 1ton Superduty 4x4 (10,000lbs each) in the city and start taking pictures for the "selective enforcement" lawsuit you plan on filing.... after the code officer cleans his shorts at the prospect of what that would mean, tell us what he says.
With a 5ton you have hydraulic power for a hydroboost system as well... it opens a lot of doors. Building a bracket and just adding parallel systems seems like a waste though. One large system of modern design should more than do the job. We aren't going to do much with more pressure, the...
It looks like Uncle Sam just built split REDUNDANT brakes on the late Air Force trucks... kinda makes sense. Same parts and all, just two of them.
If there is a big enough master cylinder to work for the M35series, it may well work for the 5ton.
The trucks I'm checking right now are old GMC...
