    Sheared generator bracket bolts.

Not seeing any cracks or anything. That's the part number for the rear bracket that is already on my truck. I think mine is slightly twisted as it's holding the remains of the stud at a slight angle, so I'll order a replacement just to be sure.

    Sheared generator bracket bolts.

When I first got the truck(m1123, 200 amp generator) the stud on the exhaust that holds the rear generator bracket was sheared, and a couple of the front bolts were loose. It started making noise again, so I checked, and the exhaust stud is sheared again, and at least one of the front bracket...

    Brake calipers and pads

your truck is an early one, so it will be the 10" and 10k rated stuff. You can get the parts straight from AM General, but they're marked at around $550 each for the calipers. For $50 each you can buy the rebuild kits and do the rebuild yourself. Not all that complicated if you are...

Mep 016B Fuel issue(Hurricane Ida help)

For the circuit box, unless it is an interlock that only allows one either the main breaker, or the generator feed breaker to be closed, not both. Without some sort of a physical lock of some type that only allows either the gen or the utility to be connected at the time it isn't legal. Just...

Mep 016B Fuel issue(Hurricane Ida help)

I came up with another reason why using a 3k on 240 wired to the house might be a bad idea. Load balancing. In 120V only mode, you have 3kw of power through that one circuit. In 120/240 mode, that 120V power is now separated into 2 1500 watt circuits. So to use my example above with hair dryer...

Mep 016B Fuel issue(Hurricane Ida help)

Get either a generator interlock kit installed, or a sub panel for generator use. What others posted, saying that you can kill linemen if wired incorrectly, is 100% true. Linemen HAVE been killed by homeowners incorrectly wiring in generators. Backfeeding it into the house through a dryer...

How to identify if m998 was rebuilt buy gov

I have no idea why it's like that. Maybe they had different sets of serial numbers set aside for different series of trucks, or just had a bunch set aside for upfitting of some type that didn't get taken care of until later, so the serial number and delivery dates are out of order compared to...

How to identify if m998 was rebuilt buy gov

From what I've seen, every truck gets sent to rebuild at 10 years, then disposed of at 20 years. If the truck is over 10 years old, it was likely rebuilt. Another clue is if the date on the data plate doesn't match up serial number with the correct year (or very close to it) that it should have...

Soft Doors vs X doors - what do you prefer?

The soft doors you can bend and tweak the door wire in order to make it a tight seal. I live in the Pacific NorthWest and don't have issues with water coming in through the door after a little bit of bending. X-doors you can adjust the hinges and the latch post a little, but other than that if...

    Arizona Registration Follies: SF97 Fail

fmvss compliance is a joke as well. If they ever bothered to actually READ what FMVSS says, it specifically states that these vehicles are exempt.

    Battery Box for M1082 Trailer

Can't see from the pictures, but you mentioned a cooling fan. Is the fan through the exterior of the case to let fresh air in. And does the fan run constantly whenever the batteries are being charged, or only when at a certain temp? I'm asking because batteries, even sealed deep cycle...

    M101 Leaf Springs

So looking around I can't find anyone that sells leaf springs that long. I went and measured one 6 leaf spring assembly I have lying around and it was 45 1/4" long (measurement A) 2" wide 3/4" eyes 3.5" drop. (measurement B) (I can't tell you how old/worn the spring I measured is, but it...

Are you talking about just the sponsons and rear hatch portion, or everything including c-pillar and roof? Without knowing what all you have together it's hard to give a realistic idea.

    M101 Leaf Springs

the A2 has a UOC of 258. This is the 5 leaf spring. The A3 has a UOC of CT1 The upgraded spring used on the A3 version should be the same as the A2E2 heavy spring being a 6 leaf spring. So either spring pack will work the same, one is just a little stiffer/stronger. 10 PAFZZ...

    M101 Leaf Springs

8 lug means it's an A2 trailer. If the axle had a drop in it rather than straight it would be the A3. Multiple versions of the A2 spring, as they made a heavier version. TM 9-2330-202-13P is the manual for the M116/M101 series trailer...

    GEP 6.5 date code

numbers for the date code are on the passenger side behind the cylinder head. Can be seen with the doghouse off. If it's in an older truck with the V-belt system, then it's going to be the same V-belts as the 6.2 it replaced. "stronger alternator" you'd probably either want to go aftermarket...

    Functional electric fan conversion.

I was thinking more of the restriction, and the fact that all of their waste heat was being blown past the primary radiator before the radiator even got a chance to cool off. the 10k cfm number that's been thrown out seems to be just a guess at the minimum it might be. It wouldn't surprise me...

    Functional electric fan conversion.

As for the crunching numbers, at this point any numbers for the original cooling setup are worthless for comparing to your truck. That 10k+ cfm that cools everything right down doesn't compare to your vehicle as you've divorced all those systems that were being cooled together by that one fan...
