There is a thread about the forklift damage done to these, I think one guy got some funds back http://www.steelsoldiers.com/conversations/33160-bidders-beware-okc-gl.html. I'm sure it would be a he said she said game though about when/where the damage occurred.
Nice truck though!

Don't always go by the GL listings, there may be 6.5L engines mistakenly listed as 6.2L. I just screened a auction a week ago to discover they were not 6.2L but rather 6.5L detuned HMMWV engines. I won them for $150. I am pretty sure they need a rebuild but at $75 each I'm ok with that. I'd...
Don,
I in addition to my family I also support my Mom so there was no way I could afford a new 4x4 truck, I was getting ready to move from GA to WA where I would see snow and ice so I bought my first cucv for that reason. Now I have an addiction as well:-D There will definitely be more MV's...
Wish I had been around for that, I did go to a DRMO auction at FT Stewart in the the early 90's and scored some furniture items. They had some large lots as you described but they had a a few small lots as well.
Not to side track your thread but I saw a bunch off HMMWV roofs with turrets (old style with the strap seat) thrown in the metal scrap bin at work I went back a day later to see about snagging one but they were haulled off already:|
Correct me if I am wrong but DRMO used to hold onsite auctions way before GL and the internet came along, I don't think everything would would just get scrapped. Besides I don't think it would come to that odds are they would just make them restructure or find another company to do the same thing.
I'll go a step farther, once you open the resource/ TM link it's like the 8th or 9th page. Also if your interested in MV's look up SS member "Papabear" he is in the Columbus area and a super nice guy with a lot of great trucks. Oh don't go look at any of his Deuce gun trucks because you will...
Roger that PB, I still get funny conversations about it or puzzled looks especially when I come through a different gate or get chosen for a full inspection.
Well I stopped with just keeping it from flaking........that is until I found the hand plainer then I redid them all down to the wood. I plan on replacing the wood eventually but none of the slats were broken so I just decided they still got some life left left in them.
Ok again I never got my letter in the mail as you mentioned, I already have my truck and SF-97. I am just saying I never had to scan any letter, I just hit print and picked up my truck. Some letters stating rules about resell of vehicle came a few weeks after I had been driving my truck.
"So now that my EUC is at BC, what is next?"
A) find a good book to start reading....better make it a trilogy
B) open a net-flix account
C) Start reading all the TM's on the resource tab (oh it's like the 8th page or so for cucv's)
D) all of the above
All kidding aside all us newbies seem to...
Thanks for your efforts Paul, I am curious though, what the Federal stance on this is? I mean if such a law gets passed in WI it would not be absurd to think other states could follow I mean what would that do to government surplus sales? I know it is not a massive amount of money but I'm sure...
