I bought a deuce in Victorville California and drove it home to New Mexico almost 800 miles. I could only do 55 on flat straight land. One thing I did notice was that it ran much better after about 2 hours of constant use, seemed to have more power. Maybe I just burned all the old junk out of it?
Yep that looks like a multi-fuel, with the dual oil filters on the side and no crossover tube.
My opinion is that $8000 is too much with a bad clutch but thats just on your pics and description. Depends on how close and how much it would take to get it home.
That just looks like it was originally a gasser that got converted to either a multi-fuel or a Mack.
You can tell by the passenger side air cleaner on the fender. You need to pop the hood to tell for sure.
Hitch looks beefy. As far as the hydraulics go, get a little diesel motor/pump that fits the range you need to move the crane, put a battery for starting it and run a line from the trailer electric harness to keep it charged up.
What are you gonna pull it with?
Looks like a M62A2 or if you are lucky an A1. Did you look at the engine? If its a Mack (A1) then it will have a large cross over tube on top of the engine.
PM me the number if you don't post it.
thanks
I have always dreamed of making a bobbed 5 ton but making the bed similar to an old Willys pickup, with the flat fenders that matched the front. I was thinking of taking 4 front fenders and combining them to make a set of rear fenders over the wheels. I think it would look better than a M105...
If you are on the throttle going around the turn then it will pull like it wants to straighten out, otherwise it will click or make a noise if you are not giving it any throttle ( i.e. unlocking)
In addition to the regular brakes, I think this would help you stop faster but not as a stand alone setup - no way
I agree with Firefighter - you can go to the junkyard and get all the parts for about 1/3 of that price.
I would like the wiring diagram also.
As for the connection to the heater, you could always take off the connector and hard wire the box into the heater, but I bet there are connectors on the shelf somewhere that would fit.
Yeah figured it wouldn't be that hard to pull/push onto a drop deck. That Landall has a steeper incline than a drop deck.
Edit: it doesn't run yet, haven't had a chance to go over it and check everything yet.
Well my M816 is still sitting over in California at 100dollarmans place. I have a few shippers bid on it but none with a winch yet to help load it. One so far has said he could get a drop deck trailer but could not pull it onto the trailer.
The tires are good and hold air, I figure the drop...
