i dont like the height either but i did not want sound like i was complaining. the pvc would be a good idea as it should conform to the shape thus give it support so as not to crush the tube. i was thinking of shimming the whole verticle brace but your idea sounds eaiser. also the stationary...
picked them up this morning from UPS and got em on tonight. took about 2 hrs. i went to the accessory feed and fused right there ( 30 amp breaker ) then to the switch and out. you guys were right, they came with plenty of instructions. a very complete kit indeed. i have to admit it was pretty...
is there a particular power source to hook up convoy lights on the 800's ? got a nos set coming and dont know if i should just grab power off the batts. fused of course. how many amps do they draw ? this is supposed to be a complete set. whatever that contains.
i have an updated alternator. i think it's 80 amp. the box i am refferring to has CONTROL BOX right on the tag. prob 4 in. wide 8 in. tall and 3-4 in. deep. has about a dozen wires out the bottom.
thank you men. i knew it had to do somthing just judging from the number of wires in and out. my short is not good enough to trip a breaker or smoke a wire. makes it diffacult to locate.
i posted this in the 5 ton section also. can anyone explain what the control box located on the left side of the fire wall in the engine compartment on the 800 series does ? i am having an intermittant short and im trying to isolate it. also i see talk here of a wiring diagram for 800 series...
26 years and still dragging hose and breathing smoke. gotta love it. allthough i have to add, moved up a little thru the yrs and most of the time (now) i dont have to work real hard. if anybody has ever given it any thought, most of the depts around here let you try it out a little to see if...

that may work out as it would buy us some time to put a plan together to make a road trip. the guy says it's roadable. if you get a chance ask your friend what he would charge to run it to your place. do you ever get to Greenville ? if you do maybe you could lay an eye on it and then we...
are you sure the play is in the box ? i had some play on the 818 and ended up adjusting the drag link in small increments till it felt right. the imput shaft u joints on mine need to be replaced just havent taken the time to pull it apart and find the right ones.
i have'nt been by there since spring. it had $800.oo on the side. when i saw it last it had been there for prob 2 yrs. the tail gate was bent in the middle but there was a very good one that looked like new laying in the bed. the bed was up on blocks not sitting on the ground.
a guy in Bellaire Michigan had one. it was a drop side and was long. had 2 drop gates on each side. all lights , a spare tire lifting mechanizm , and 4 steel flaps included. if i get back that way i can check if its still there. if you are going that way let me know and i will give you directions.
the old Detroit's are what they are. pretty much bullet proof and dependable. i just pulled a 671 out of a tractor that i scrapped. it's a good runner and i couldnt bear to scrap it. also saved the 10 speed but dont know why . pulled a 335 cummapart with a 13 speed hooked to it today. the 335...
