On the frame on the passenger's side, in the front wheel well, should be the date stamp for the frame. IIRC, it is in a dd-mm-yyyy format. That's the best way to tell the year that I'm aware of...

On the subject of seats and their adjustment, here's a little tip for everyone out there that does not like their fingernails to become black and painful... :(
The day I got my deuce home, I sat on the driver's (box) seat and decided that it was too close to the steering wheel. The seat was...
Yeah, I love that picture... I get a lot of posting mileage out of it, but it ain't mine! I grabbed it from an older post here. I think Kenny (recovry4x4) took the pic... definitely looks like FL in the background.
Have you been following the threads about adding spin-on filters / pre-lube pumps? I now believe quite strongly that the relatively short life span of the multifuel engines is due to a combination of antiquated cartridge type oil filters, which are mounted upside-down, and the fact that there...
I believe that is correct... The in-tank pump only puts out something like ~3-5 psi, fuel passes through the primary filter and then into the injector pump where a small gear-driven pump steps up the pressure to ~50 something psi (I'm doing this from my memory, which isn't really worth a...
Most "big truck" transmissions with overdrive have that type of shift pattern, it's just how they're set up internally. A trucker friend of mine said it makes it easy to tell if the transmission has OD or not... OD is always in the upper right, direct drive is always in the lower right...

NAPCO sells conversion kits to put a 4-53 into a deuce. I have their catalog, it says that the kit was designed to replace a gas engine but can be supplied to replace a multifuel. They claim performance is better than a gasser and as good as a multifuel...
Sometimes they are just rusted on solid... I was trying to loosen a Budd nut at Walker's last week, last of the six. After jumping on the lug wrench bar with no luck I brought out the "big guns" (1" impact wrench, 1600 ft. lbs. torque)... it broke the square portion off the nut but did not...
Well, I'm glad to hear he's okay... He's a fine fella, most of my data plates are from him.
Maybe he has e-mail issues like KCGonzo, where his inbox starts dumping messages when it fills up... which could happen if he is out of town for a few days. FWIW, we conducted business over the phone so...
Rod Shaver lists it on his site:
http://www.mvdataplates.com/all_other_plates.htm
Have you tried to contact him? His site hasn't been updated in a long time and he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth...

Removing the sprag housing without removing the transfer case? Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's possible... the Memphis REB kit installation instructions mention nothing about having to disturb the transfer case mounts...

Wow, that's nasty! I agree with jwaller, it would be nice to change the drum... But I doubt I would if it were my truck because to get the drum off, not only does the drive shaft have to come off (no big deal), but the drive flange has to come off the transfer case rear output. That sounds...
That makes it easy... a few more questions:
Do you know if the circuit breaker is still there? How 'bout the resistor? (It's brown, about 3/4" dia. x 5" long with 1 wire coming out of each end, would be on the firewall either in the cab or under hood)
The hook-up is pretty simple - the hot...
I'm using Chevron DELO ESI 80w-90 in the axles and transfer case, it is rated GL-4/5 MT-1 and MIL-PRF-2105E.
http://www.chevron.com/products/prodserv/nafl/trucking/content/prodspecs.shtm
An MT-1 rating means that the oil will not cause corrosion of yellow metal, but if the oil has...
I'm not quite sure what you're missing... How 'bout a pic? Are you saying everything except the electrical switch and wiring is there or do you mean the under dash heater / defroster 'diverter box' is missing? Is the under-hood portion all there?
I would get the missing parts from an MV...
Why eliminate the stock rims? New tubeless rims will cost much more than paying 'for a big-tire company put new tires on the old 2-piece wheels'...
I'd get stock rims from an MV boneyard and if cost is an overriding factor, why not download the tire TM and break down, clean, inspect and...
