The current "member locator map" has provisions for adding MV Suppliers (which of course would include salvage yards), and the little map icon is a different color - red is members, yellow is suppliers, and green is assistance members, black is DRMO lots...
I went in a while back and added all...
I could be wrong, but I thought the brakes were the only difference... an A1 has the single air line and the A2 has two. Also, the A2 could still have the older landing leg with the single large wheel, if it started as an A1 but had been upgraded to dual-line brakes. Also, an A1 or A2 could...
dg - Can you post some pics of your Detroit converted M37? That's my kind of project! I've probably got a hundred questions about it... What transmission did you use? Did you need to do a suspension lift or did it fit at stock height? Did you encounter any serious problems?
Very cool...
Thanks guys, I'll go get the chain and hooks this week. I'll post pics of what I come up with for your approval.
To some extent I feel the chains are "just for show" in case a CHP driving along looks over my towing arrangement - some nice big safety chains could prevent me from getting pulled...
I'd have used a torch to cut the old nut off by now. I don't let my equipment bully me around like that, I show it who's boss! 8)
Actually... I'd have a buddy of mine torch it off. He's VERY good with a torch and could cut that nut off without damaging the wheel or Budd nut.

I bet they added the words "vehicle canvases" as a carrot to lure a chump into taking all their rotten tents and bad-order parachutes away for them. With that large weight involved, and the logistics of loading, transport and storage, I would want to see the quantity breakdown for the different...

Hi Group,
I will soon be making the 400+ mile round trip to pick up my "new" 1952 Studebaker V-18A/MTQ earth borer / pole setter truck. Here's the thread about it:

I am still waiting for paperwork issues to be...
Hmmm... I wonder if they looked up my plate to see how it was done? Glad they were able to do it... and didn't say, "Hey! He can't do that!"
The way they do it, is they change the type of vehicle from "commercial" to "automobile". (My title shows that my deuce is a 13,000lb. "automobile".)...
Ted's does still have 24v Solargizers... I just ordered 4, to have a couple as spares. Tell him you're a Steel Soldiers member and you get the discounted price. Ted is a great guy to do business with.

Maybe someone with an M36 would want to trade for your van body? Couldn't hurt to call SECO... I don't know which is rarer, but the van body could be very desirable to someone.

One method I use to keep something from melting while I weld/braze/solder next to it, is to place a water-soaked rag or two over the part I want to stay cool. I learned it from building and repairing brass models which are soldered together... As assembly of the model progresses, there is a...
