Wrecker Feet rusted and not moving.

To all who inquired about the parts M816 in Farmington: Not to hijack this thread, but I stopped by the yard this afternoon and spoke to one of the owners. I gave him a list of all the parts people had pm'd me about. He did not want to pull anything off of the wrecker body itself since it...

Wrecker Feet rusted and not moving.

Hey Brian, theres a M816 body in a wrecking yard down here in Farmington that the guy wants to get rid of for $1500. I am going to scavenge some parts off of it next week hopefully. It doesn't have any axles and the motor is shot but it looks complete other wise if you need anything.

LDS clutch linkage pics and parts needed

On my recently purchased M54A2, I found that it is missing the linkage for the clutch. I looked in the TM and it shows the adjustable part of the linkage that hooks onto the pivot, but I did not see how it hooked to the actually clutch itself. Does anyone have some good pictures that show...

    GL reselling trucks

Ed, On that second question, I can answer yes. I did this once when my green iron disease got the better of me and I bid on and won two trucks in HAWAII!! Needless to say, I could not get them shipped over here in a cost effective manner so I defaulted on the payment and payed the %20 penalty.

    Would you pay $16,000 for a M246A2?

An M819 would be the top choice if I could find one close and very good shape, but I have not found one in either category. this one would be less than a days ride away, and in very good shape. Top speed is not a big factor as it would be used on country roads where the max speed here is 55...

    Would you pay $16,000 for a M246A2?

Long story before to explain why I ask this: A couple of years ago, I found an old M246 tractor wrecker (gasser) in a field close to where I live. It sparked my interest in the wreckers so I started doing a little research into the tractor wreckers. I got the idea of starting a side business...

    Brake Bleeding 101

Just as a side note: You can mix DOT 3 and DOT 5 with no adverse effects!!! You do not have to flush the entire system!! You will not get the desired " non absorption of water" of DOT 5 but it will still be good brake fluid.

    Question for winch owners

yes, I do. Its very unsafe practice to not put some sort of weight on the cable. Use an old jacket and put rocks in the pockets, anything to bring it down if it snaps
