I had looked several months ago and didn't find anything other than the cheap China tanks without that hole.
If your tank has holes in it you can fix it with Caswell Plating's tank epoxy.
I have fixed at least 8 tanks this way including 2 for the 016D's with holes big enough to stick a pencil...
Yes, that just recently happened within the last couple weeks. It's like they haven't advertised any auctions into 2022 yet.
Maybe they are taking a little shut-down!
Dunno....
I use spill proof jump pack batteries in my 831, the kids 4 wheelers and my son's LPW2 tractor conversion.
You can get a matched pair for about $75.
12V 18Ah. or a few bucks more for a 21Ah.
I wasn't having good luck with the small cheap motorcycle batteries that you buy dry from local stores...
Nice work Jim! It's good that you found that Onan manual, it looks to have more dimensional info than the generator TM has. The TM doesn't talk about the 7/32" dimension or machining the cup to gain adequate clearance.
Hopefully once the gasket arrives you will be back in business.
C.B , he has another issue here. The center pin we're talking about is the pin that goes into the center of the governor assembly and the camshaft.
Not only did he loose the roll pin in the timing cover, but it appears his governor assembly may be out of spec. with regards to the distance from...
Well as far as the pin relates to the operation of the governor, you might think it is working fine without the pin, but ask yourself, WHY would they put the pin there if it wasn't necessary?? It may seem like it still works correctly, but when the gear and cup are flying around at 900 RPM's...
Once running your machine shouldn't really smoke at all with the exception of when it is approaching , at or above full load.
Another reason for light black / gray smoke is excess carbon built up in the muffler.
The typical procedure is to load it up to 25%, run it for 1/2 hour, then step up the...
Wow, I think you got lucky! There have recently been several threads about people with catastrophic timing and oil pump gear failure, possibly caused by that pin falling out ( breaking the boss its pressed into ) and falling into the gears and destroying a whole bunch of stuff!
If the pin...
Yes, that is the older PSU pump which doesn't use a plunger guide. ( it uses a drive pin with no safety feature )
If you are getting a little fuel out of the pump you most likely have a working pump.
First try bleeding the lines up at the injectors, while cranking the motor.
If that doesn't at...
So I assume you aren't getting any smoke or anything correct?
Do you have the throttle cable pulled out to the normal run position as it was back when it was working?
Have you checked visually to see that the throttle linkage at the pump goes to the full UP position when you crank it and the...
I wouldn't bother. If it has always started easily in the past and now it doesn't even sputter with ether in it, not to mention hand cranking without releasing the decompression valve, why bother? Something is wrong internally.
Just bite the bullet and take the head off, it will actually be...
Good thought, I have had to do that on my Lull a couple times when it was really cold out, but he already tried starting fluid and that wouldn't even sputter.
These motors are so simple to take apart, I think we're closing in on tear down time....
One other question for Stone Burner... it sounds...
The fork is definitely not flat. There is a curve in it and if I recall correctly, the tips have a fairly obvious "Business side" that goes against the cover of the flyweight assembly. Sounds like you quite possibly might be 180 out on the fork orientation.
When you put the timing cover back on...
Before you get too discouraged and before tearing the motor down do 1 more thing....
So you say you have compression leaking at or near the bottom of the stroke, but not at the top, there is actually a good explanation for this.
There are at least 3 factors that contribute to this:
When the...
When the machine is off the governor spring ( droop adjustment spring ) will attempt to fully open the throttle by lifting up on the arm.
As soon as the engine starts the governor weights inside the timing cover should push outward and begin to counteract the "Pull" of the spring on the throttle...
I had a similar issue on a 16D someone brought me to repair. It was running during a storm then died during the night.
He was able to restart and ran another hour and died again. Now it would barely sputter a little.
After checking everything possible I found that he was unaware the machine had...
I'm not that familiar with the 804's so I will rely on Kurt and Guy to finish my thoughts here, but if you had an alternator issue and blown fuse and now no 24V to your panel, and assuming the 804 probably uses a similar ( or identical ) diode in the 24V line feeding the control panel?
Its...
By "having 125v per leg at K1" I assume you mean on the input side coming from the AC select switch?
If so, have you functionally tested the K1 relay per the TM?
I see you checked continuity on the wiring, but the TM should tell you how to run a jumper from battery +24 to the contactor and a...
