Yea, and what frame are you planing on using? This is a very unrealistic biuld fr a daily driver. Im sorry but thats how i feel. My DD cummins spins 3200 and makes more than enough power to get me where i need to go. To spin 5k is just unnessisary stress and wear.

Do you have much experiance with the B series? Your sweet spot is right around 1800 rpm. to simply swap a cummins in the truck with nothing else done to compensate the ratios would be a waste of time and $.

Loosen the bolt on the shift linkage rod (where the collumn comes through the fire wall) and shift it into N. Not nessesary to pull the driveshaft to move it.

Personaly if i where in your shoes, I would toss the auto and slam some sort of OD or 2xOD manual trans in there. That is one way I would definatly give some respect to an A3. Thing would be sweet.
