Since you removed the fuel cap and it made no difference it is not a vent issue, I would start looking at the return system any restriction there will cause a loss in power, you might want to remove the check valve in the top of the IP (the return line fitting) and inspect it, (careful not to...
What the OP needs is some documentation he can show the authorities that his HMMWV was produced without a turbo, I have no idea where to get it but someone probably does..
Most R1s are three speed trucks, there are some exceptions.
DRMO stands for Defense Reutilization Marketing Office, that is where us old timers used to buy gov. surplus, the sales were handled by private contractors on gov. posts, now handled by by GP mostly off post
In fact the NSN number 2320-01-107-7155 is for a M998 BASIC truck which would not likely have the cast mount and variable rate spring.
Yours is obviously a variable rate spring by the fact that the diameter of the coil tapers.
It does look like your truck is actually an R1, I have no idea why the data plate they used did not reflect that, actually the data plate does not state any model and the weight rating of a basic M998, they obviously just got lazy and used what ever they had, the plate on the passenger side was...
No just some 5/16 and 3/8 hose, there are steel lines with built in "barbs" on both sides of the valves, just remove the valves and the short pieces of hose on each end and replace with just hose.
There are two of them one suction and one return, they are directly in front of the fuel tank in the fuel lines with short pieces of rubber fuel line on each end, you will need some good quality rubber fuel line in 5/16" and 3/8" about a foot or so each.
I plum forgot about the check valves as mentioned above, have they been removed?
Most IP issues are it just will not start and it will not start when hot due to a worn parts in the IP, a loss of power is not USUALLY a sign of IP issues.
There is a filter on the input of the IP that can get...
One thing is it is difficult to get a HMMWV titled/licensed in CA, another is they have sold a pot load of them in CA so the market there is saturated, they are demilled armored trucks so you have to deal with all the "damage" involved, they ride like a brick on a skateboard due to the massive...
Welcome to the SS forums.
One thing is every time you turn the run switch to off you must wait at least 90 seconds before going back to run, probably not your issue but if you do not wait you can burn up the glow plugs, it's all in the operators TM.
Also you should fix you location, there are...
You are getting air in the system somehow, do not just stomp on the brakes to test the noise, you can blow out the seals in the hydroboost, don't ask how I know...
I would not be overly concerned as long as the steering and brakes still work and it goes back to normal and there are no leaks.
You...
