The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

That Cummins NHC 250 is a beast. They sound real purdy, and have more than enough power. As long as you are willing to lift and haul the parts for a 5 ton (most are big) and pay for the parts, you should be fine.

    air cleaner question

Just reading through this thread, and I noticed you're out of Dutchess Co, NY, there Recon. Whereabouts up there? I spend my summers up in Rhinebeck and Red Hook.

Need a drop point along I75 south.

Gimpyrobb- I am so sorry things turned out the way they did. It was a wacky-arse day all around here. Hope y'all are able to get your stuff moved safely and are having fun in the warmer climes!

    2008 Clinto gathering

Re: RE: 2008 Clinto gathering Don't worry, I'll be there. It's in the same state as me, the old man can't argue with that. I may even get crazy and bring the M37, or a mostly put-together-so-it-runs-and-drives M37, to this.

    Deuce noob......have some questions

If they run, you're fine to drive them out of there and drive them home. If they don't run, you'll have to tow it out of there somehow.

    Tennessee Adventure About to Begin

Glad y'all made it home OK. Good luck with the trans. problem, but with the rally next weekend, all of the knowledge and all of the slave labor (OK, helping hands) you should have her fixed right up!

    Bum Brakes

I don't believe pressure will build up until you are completely done. You will probably pull the hubs and drums and take a look. If there isn't anything that needs to be replaced (I'm not familiar with Air/Hydraulic brakes) they will probably need an adjustment. (on my M37, I replaced the master...

    Deuce noob......have some questions

RE: duece noob......have some questions Welcome to SS! My advice (as a non-deuce owner, but I know a couple and have read about others' experiences here) is to get a privately owned deuce. Preferably from someone you know. From Government Liquidation, you can get a deuce from $1500-$2500...

    Wrecker advice needed

I think that you should go with the 816. The Cummins NHC 250 engine is a horse and a half, and I guarantee you that you will find yourself doing more than just personal recoveries and moving junk around the yard.

Good luck! Traffic through ATL ain't that bad on the weekend, except for they're doing construction. http://www.wsbtv.com/traffic/index.html has good traffic info for the Atlanta area.

    Panzer-Transporter MAZ 537G

Those are big sons of b!tches. Plenty of neat videos of them on youtube, especially the one where one of these beasties is towing a T34/85

    tatra 813 new owner

Wow. These beasties look like fun! Until you have to pay for them. Bit too big for me- but they sure seem to be capable of overcoming whatever you throw at them!

    stuck deuce

Re: RE: stuck deuce I can't help myself from laughing sometimes when listening to folks talk about their new trucks. Wait until they break down and it costs $500 for the replacement of a $5 part...

Thanks for the quick replies, guys. Checking the oil in the trans has been a "need-to-do" and I definitely shall check that out this weekend.
