That is correct for early gas truck.

Go drive it. Verify it is shifting 1-2, 2-3, 3-4. If it’s not you are in limp mode which explains the 3000 rpm @55. Limp mode is second gear only. Limp mode happens when the transmission has issues.

Please, do a little research, 24208421 is a 4L80E.

I don’t think you are correct. Those numbers reflect a Turbohydramatic 400 non overdrive transmission.

I had a 11.00-20 NDCC blow out on right front at 55 mph. Truck just set down to the right, no loss of control. Tire was telling me it was sick, lots of unusual vibration, but I ignored it stupidly. Tire was 1964 vintage.

Is your 4L80E going into 4th gear?

NDCC tires can be 50 years old and still be A-OK for use. You just need a new tube.

Any way to get natural gas piped in? I have two 120,000 btu gas furnaces and a 2000 watt natural gas fueled generator kept them and the rest of the house going for many days during the storm. Just paid the gas bill, like $80.
