I vote for Nov 17th(Sat) somewhere around the Barstow vicinity. I have to go over to Santa Barbara to take a test in the morning am planning on bringing my M292A2 back home to New Mexico that weekend hopefully.
It would be cool to meet up with some people that weekend somewhere out in the desert.
RE: RV
I don't know about the M109A3 or the M185A3, but the M292A2 has a "plug" on the back for a generator to hook up to which allows you to power the van body through an electrical junction box.
My truck has an area for an A/C unit and two diesel burning heaters.
I vote for the M292A2!!! :D
Thats real close to where I used to live. Its out in the country where people got all sorts of neat toys.
I would really like that 819 but its a little too much for me.
5 ton - M246(gas, multi or Mack powered) longer reach, fifth wheel plate - I like this one!!
M62 not as long reach no fifth wheel plate( did these has a winch on the back?)
M543 mostly mullit fuel powered yes? with front and rear winches and crane
M816 just...
Do those ramps support the dovetail when they are down? That seems like a long dovetail for heavy loads.
Nice looking setup anyway.
I drove my deuce 800 miles back from California last summer, never NEVER, again will I do that!! ( Have to wait until winter time  )
Re: M35 Engine options
The Cummins B engine is NOT too small, with proper adjustments, it can easily put out 300hp and over 600 ft-lbs torque. these are common engines and replacement parts are not that hard to find.
I plan on repowering my M292A2 van with a Cummins 5,9 as soon as that pot...
RE: Re: RE: Vegoil destroys engines?
Just as a side note, you don't need a "mulitifuel engine" to run waste veggie oil (WVO), all compression ignition engines i.e. diesels are capable of running on veggie oil when properly equipped.
RE: Re: WVO for Dummies - need clarification
All diesel engines can run WVO/biodiesel with some modifications. The fuel density compensator on the multifuel engine actually works against you when you run WVO/biodiesel so I would recommend bypassing it.
WVO itself needs to be heated as stated...
i can't make it but can someone check the 5 ton wreckers and see how much a runner costs and pm me some prices? Not worried about body shape just a decent runner that the boom and winches work.
thanks
RE: prices
As stated above, a 15 year old motor can be brought back to life.
As far as parts for $2000, heck the axles alone I can sell for $500 each so theres $1500. Winch with pto and driveline and lever can probably get more than $500.
I don't want to part trucks but just saying if you...
RE: price
Heck, in parts alone its probably worth $2000 assuming its got the pto and stuff still attached.
It all depends on how bad you want it and how bad the guy wants to sell it.
Re: RE: My 292A2 expandable van pics and questions
thanks for the info, I will look there when ever I get back up there.
is there any data plate info on the heaters or A/C units in yours?
Kenny I don't have the jacks that I know of, would appreciate the pics.
the inside paint is peeling...
