Oil may be from the breather, I'm more interested in the transfer case shattering in micro junks (chucks?) . Your truck must not have been equipped with the safety interlock preventing reverse in low treansfer. Were you giving it power or just idling back up the driveway? Case failure or just...

The Jeep may fit in the bed of the 923. Just need a dock or the right hill/embankment. Can the seller pick you up in Traverse City, not to big of an inconvenience.

Double checked my '87 A2C that was delivered last month, it is equipped with the brackets. My bud's A3 has them also, however they were reversed as not being utilized. Still looking through the manuals.....

Go to Home Depot and ask for the Federal Color Codes, they have them, they might know they have them, but they do. A lot of paint info here in the forum also.

I would weld them up and not worry about it until it really splits opens.
