    Another Diagnostic Thread

The Standard Test Equipment/Internal Combustion Engines (STE/ICE) is capable of a lot of functions. In particular besides the Dearborn Adapter that is a generic J1939 adapter and talks to the engine, transmission, ABS, etc with the correct software, the rest of the kit is basically a DVOM that...

The CD's that come with the ICE kit are manuals only. They contain no software other than the manual viewer application. The ICE kit interface software is located on the MSD laptop - for which the STE-ICE kit is a basic issue item of. The MSD laptops are significantly less common and in any case...

    3126 w/ABS vs 3116

Changing the subject I see. I have zero concerns about the C7 rerate at the *tiny* HP number of 370. I've seen plenty of lesser engines making significantly more power. I've got a 5.9 Cummins Dodge at my shop right now that was making 1100 HP and did so for 40k miles before it dropped a valve...

    3126 w/ABS vs 3116

Again with the claims and no references. Supply and demand doesn't just stop working and economies don't just implode like your predictions would suggest. Until technologies come online and are adopted to replace the entire transportation sector (planes, trains, trucks, etc) with alternatives...

    3126 w/ABS vs 3116

Wise decision to remove your ad hominem. My education level isn't the topic of discussion - I'm educated enough to know that! You haven't brought any "expert" testimony to this discussion. You have made only unsubstantiated claims and generalizations. I posted an article refuting your claims...

    3126 w/ABS vs 3116

It's always "unstable" - has been for decades. Stability doesn't have enough divisive issues associated with it for proper "control". Keeping people divided over "divisive issues" is HOW they maintain control. Isn't is curious that almost every issue, every measure, every party, every vote is...

    3126 w/ABS vs 3116

Why would they demil them with the included CD's and manuals if they are illegal to distribute? And in any case doesn't that pretty much invalidate their distribution restriction? That shit is literally everywhere. I don't see how they can claim it's classified now....... I'm happy to give it...

    3126 w/ABS vs 3116

I think in some respects you may be confusing the A1R with the A1P2. Totally different animals. MWME has an A1P2 LTAS for sale at $250k..... I have seen no A1R's for sale in this price range. The TM's are absolutely available. Just PM me and I can get you anything you need. In another thread I...

    3126 w/ABS vs 3116

Having ridden in all versions....... I prefer the HEMTTA4's. They ride like a Cadillac. But seriously the A1R gets all this flak for the lack of an air ride cab and honestly you just don't notice this significantly in practice. The addition of the suspension seats and generally people...

Sensational doom and gloom reporting always gets lots of views. It's great for click bait. Given historic trends that prediction is unlikely...

    M1087A1 Expansible Van TM?

I can image the discs and put them on archive.org. Would posting the link to download them from there be considered taboo? I mean - this forum isn't hosting the files......

    M1087A1 Expansible Van TM?

It exists in PDF format as well. ALSO the government is selling ICE test sets at auction that contain the CD's with these manuals. Anyone can buy one on ebay for $200 to $400. The CD's included with these kits are often still shrink wrapped. I own one. Want pics? LoL...

    3126 w/ABS vs 3116

He's not wrong but IMO the C7 trucks are worth a reasonable markup on the entry price. For one they are rare. Only about 1/5th of the non-LTAS trucks were ever made as A1R C7 trucks. The military still owns quite a few with National Guard and Reserve units so they will continue to trickle out...

    M1087A1 Expansible Van TM?

Yes..... what serial number is your truck and what information do you need? I show the manual for M1087A1 as TM 9-2320-391-13&P

Unplug it and check the voltage on the bus. And yeah - what diagnostic tool are you using exactly? I would be checking that it was plugged in correctly and nothing is shorted because burning up a termination resistor is some serious shit and I would be worried it could damage modules on the bus...

    Another Diagnostic Thread

That would be a pretty wild thing to "burn up" as the J1939 bus is all low voltage. I have never heard of such a thing and I deal with CANBUS regularly enough to know what the high and low waveforms look like...... they are typically +/- 1v.

Cab and spare hydraulics problems M1078 LMTV

No - there's TWO chains. The lifting chain with the threaded clevis and then a SAFETY chain that goes around the wheel and attaches to the spare tire frame with spring hooks. You can see the safety chain hanging from my van frame to the right of the carrier:

New to me M1078A1 - Flew into Houston yesterday - What have I done

Isn't that exclusively a 3116 issue? 2003 A1 should be a 3126b. There's still an oil supply line to the HEUI pump but I'm not aware of a specific flaw in those. Definitely inspect though.

New to me M1078A1 - Flew into Houston yesterday - What have I done

Rear main seal. That is the drain hole - the bell-housing fording plug (to the lef) is in it's stowage position. It should be in that configuration unless you are fording deep water. Although it looks like there's oil forward of that port on the bell-housing also. More pics needed. Also the...
