Runs like a swiss watch. Thanks for posting. So deactivating the rear rear axle didn't help at all. As long as you have matched tires, that would be my guess.
The only thing maintenance wise that will kill you on APCs is the rear door. Disconnect the lines from the hydraulic cylinder, unlatch the door while standing under it and you will meet your maker.
Pictured are M113A1 series APC and M578 wrecker. Make sure everyone involved understands that these items are the property of the US Military and MUST be turned in to a DRMO office or the CMH if the organization that took them on loan is folding.
I spy with my little eye a fording valve on your crossover tube. Do you have evidence on the dash board of the fording control being mounted? It will be a 5/8 hole with 4 ea 1/8 holes surrounding it in a square.
Those things are huge and heavy. Worst of all they are old. All hoses and cylinder packings are shot. Maybe cylinder rods need rechroming. You need 11 expensive 12.00-20 tires. All new wiring. New torque rod ends. Think long and hard before moving on this.
" If the low fuel indicator is on, the unit will not energize "
That is your issue. There is probably a second sensor in the fuel tank that lights this up. Jump it off.
