You're going to bring that to the GA Rally? If so, excellent! A fair number of able bodied men can pull that thing around at night while occupied. Take a GPS so you know where you are when you wake up.
I just did them on my bambalance Saturday. I bought a box of 25 striker bushings on an auction site for less than $10. I replace them on everything I own. I remember the clunk on my burb when I did it. Was a pretty easy fix. On the CUCV you can reach around and hold it. I've sent out...
There is also a magnetic switch on the side of the block on some deuces. This will need to be checked too but only after you get the batts up to snuff.
OK, thanks Mark. My spotlight is broken and missing parts. The wire was sucked up in the roof. I pulled the left visor out and removed the wire, extended it and fished it back through the hole then installed a grommet. The wire is just tied up now. This may explain why the MS Guard...
The steering wheel was a straight swap. The same steering wheel was used in camaros and Z/28s as well. I have used these on just about every older GM I've ever owned. My M1008 has one as well and I know JW4x4 uses that same wheel. It's a super durable wheel, little thicker to hold and a little...
I just figured that one out. Since there is no generator 2 relay in the M1010 I figured that was it. At least I can go forward with troubleshooting now. I can find no mention of that relay in any of the TMs. Thanks for confirming that Mark. Reference shorting out, is this usually at the light...
I am working on troubleshooting the spot and flood lights on the M1010. The only part of this covered in the TM is bulb replacement and fixture replacement. The wiring schematic shows a relay used for both the spot and side floods. Does anyone have an idea where this relay is located? I've...
Many vibration issues can be remedied by upping the idle just a bit. Try this, stopped with the truck in gear and brakes applied, use the peddle to bring up the RPMs just a tad to see if it goes away. If so they you would probably benefit from upping the idle.
If I recall correctly, the system, in it's very design, is factory imbalanced. That is exactly why the charging system is set up the way it is. There should be no problem tapping the 12V side for an isolator to charge a house battery. What will be the demands on the house battery? Knowing this...
Today I spent some time with the M1010. Did the starter relay mod, pulled a rooftop spotlight wire that had been pulled back in the roof and added a Vega GT steering wheel. Last Saturday was the recessed receiver hitch. My next assault will be new switches in the focus lights.
Did another one today on the bambalance. As usual I added a switch in the purple/wte wire so that I can interrupt the circuit, just in case someone with a 73Y2 key happens along.
Haha! Was going through my search results of 480 threads trying to find info on the side flood lights and came across this thread. It's now my truck! WooHoo.
Yeah, I have the plug from the bumper cleaned up to plug the receiver, just ran out of time that visit. I need to edit the title to assist in future searches. It was fun for a day.
