CUCV revving up too high when first started, also sometimes sticks at a high RPM

I have several unaltered ones that are decent and buyer are fewer to find every day. If you have nice stuff it is worth the price. I have a few that are 100% stock and just the paint is altered. They still don't sell. So I just use them. Never in a rush tosell them. Someday. Maybe. Till then. I...

Wasps! Anybody else have problems with them making nests?

Well excuse me for being involved. Relevant not relavent. I have a question. How can I prevent weeds from growing up around the tires on my M1009? Same thing. It is a no brainer question that maybe you could ask on facebook page. Really. You ask I told you. The answers were given by others. No...

Wasps! Anybody else have problems with them making nests?

CARC paint has nothing to do with as you know. I get paper wasps in new trucks. If it is parked near grass they will chew grass and make a nest in the door jams and every where they can get in into. The paper wasp species is pretty docile. The black wasp is very aggressive and the Hornet/Yellow...

    M1009 Rear Window Question.

I use a urethane adhesive caulk. I don't use the rubber that came from factory. I clean. Wire brush. Or I just replace the sash. When I caulk the window in I clamp it straight on the glass. Make sure you put it on the correct way the first time. You can mount it back wards if you are not...

    Hydraulic Brake Booster Change Out

Scott since you ask I thought I would show you how I used the flat bar to make a seat mount adapter. I never drilled a hole thru the floor yet. I use the original holes. I fit form and bolt the flat bar to the floor pan and use elevator bolts to mount the seats of my choice. I hope this is...

Keep that non running one as a trade in on the barn unit. Or I could get it running and sell it for you. But I need it in my driveway to do that.

    Jeeperjoe's build thread

Yes if that petcock breather/bleeder is leaking. It could be as simple as that. that would be great. Crank it down tight by hand and see if it stays dry. The slightest bit of air leak will make a fuel drop and a start and stop condition. Check it out and report back. Good Luck.

    M1010 possible blown engine?

You want to spend 10K. Put it on a flat bed and send it east I will fix the truck and ship it back to you for less then 10K. 10K does a lot of work on an engine. I put engines in HMMWV for much less then that. Send it east. I will be waiting. Last time I shipped a Mercedes to LA it cost me...

    Jeeperjoe's build thread

If it were my truck. I would check the throttle shaft seals. Are they leaking? If they are it is a 2 hour process to change them and about $30. in parts 2 - O rings and an intake gasket set for a J code 6.2. Check under the cab at the rear cab cross member. They are known for rubbing a hole in...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The O rings go on each of the aluminum lines were the connect to the radiator. I have been fortunate enough that they stay on the lines and I just reinstall them. A few radiators I bought new ones came along with the radiator. Also a few radiators I needed to sand/grind down the aluminum tube...
