Just buy a trailer with everything at auction. I can't remember the last time I saw one for sale that didn't have a cover and bows. Get a better trailer, keep it, not better, scrap or part it out or sell it.

I can answer your battery question. Look at the batteries and see how they are wired. If positive to positive then it's 12V. If one positive goes to one negative then it is 24V. Or just put a meter on them.

Sorry to break it to you but that simply isn't true. You can say some state require a CDL but not all do. In Ohio it is for commercial use. I have posted and posted the exemptions FOR OHIO only. Your mileage will vary.
I feel that way after driving my Wife's Jaguar but that isn't a problem now since I broke a bolt changing the serpentine belt and it sits in the driveway slowly fading away.

Correct, the ones they have to use for the ride boat are Man diesels per the Coast Guard. The spares are for the boat they can't give rides on.
