I wish you better luck than the last couple of weeks of posts where two of us have had two Kats fail completely and melt down. (4 Total)

Official 2015 Georgia Rally Radio Communications Thread

Yeah, I was going to mention that JP. You did well with that little mag mount I loaned you on the M37 coupled with your radio. I usually ran about 25W back at the base tent off my makeshift "tower".

The planets align and serve to shaft anyone wanting to go to Findlay and the Hamvention again this year. Both May 15-17th. :-(

I would have deleted it already.

Official 2015 Georgia Rally Radio Communications Thread

That might be doable but by the time they get their sign the rally would be over. But it helps for when they come to next and the rest of the time in between. Use SS Member VEs or contact locals? My former boss at Miami is the one who coaxed me into getting a license about a year ago and then...

Official 2015 Georgia Rally Radio Communications Thread

Bringing this up to the forefront. Since it is about bad weather wise as it can get might I suggest that now is a good time to study for the Amateur Technician Exam. If you have ever wanted to be licensed and get on the air with others at the rally then take the test. See (or talk) to you there.

    M923A2 1993 model

Updated your model in the title and I would NOT assume anything at all about the truck. It could be perfect or it could have a rod hanging out the side of the block or it may be something in between. While it may sound like a good idea the Walmart locally won't let any trucks sit in their...

Kat's engine heater 2 failures in a row.

Except that mine were magnetic, had more than enough surface area and had no crud on the oil pans. We have two completely different kinds of products failing in similar ways from the same manufacturer.

    M923A2 1993 model

It has 4 batteries in it normally but you can do with 2 Group 31s just connect them up correctly. I like to use the NAPA Commercial with over 1,100CCA rating.

Kat's engine heater 2 failures in a row.

I hate to say this but I will. I'm kinda glad it happened. Why am I a cold heartless b@stard. Because two of mine burned up and one put smoke trails up the side of the Deuce's oil pan. That tells me I was not just having bad luck, they are junk.

2015 SS Haspin Acres Rally Dates, June 10-14th

Oh good, the greatest show on Earth. Mowrons rolling hotrod mowers without spilling their beer? Priceless. (No, I know you don't drink.)

Interesting, I just scrolled down when I read your comment and sure enough, there are 5 similar threads at the bottom of the page. I'm sure one of them has the answer.

What do you do for seeing behind you?

A primary reason for me selling my bike. Too many close calls and figured the odds were against me. :-(

What do you do for seeing behind you?

I try to keep my mirrors out so I can barely see the truck and I have the spotters on mine as well. On my pickup I have the Dodge foldouts and they are nice.
