I havent gone very fast in mine. I think the manual says 23mph max speed. There were 2 different cummins 5.9 engines used the newer engine with the inline pump has more power. The older motor used a ve rotary pump. I think it weighs around 27000lbs its a bit underpowered for its weight. I only...
There has been talk of repurposing lmtv tractors for other use. Here are some pics with the 5th wheel and mount plate removed. You can see the rear shock upper mounts are on the back ramps and there is a plate on each side of the frame coming up a bit. Once could build up a few inches with some...
All the fire depts need to have a common forum of sort to share info like offroad load handling experiences and other info that can be helpful to the next FD.
The first gen LMTVs still use the big round ste ice diag plug and the big interface box that should be in that kit. I have most of the software for that. It's made to be installed on a Miltope laptop but most if it will work on a laptop with XP. But you will need something older with a serial...
With the truck off, hand push the solenoid in and feel how it pushes back out. See if it's binding. Push the solenoid in and hand move the fuel control on the ip and see if that's binding. The fuel control on the ip is connected to and slides across the emergency cut cable. Sometimes if the...
The m1088 tractor is not like the older m939 tractor where you can just take off the 5th wheel and have frame rails to mount whatever you want. You would have to build up a bit across to have a long flat surface.
I think the 6x6 version might be better suited for your application. 500 gallons is just under 4200lbs plus the weight of the tank and equipment sounds about right if you are driving it offroad. If you had to in an emergency the truck would handle double that weight. You do run the chance of...
It will hold some decent weight in the bed. The springs are compliant and flex easily not like the older style trucks. Any decent weight in the back will bring the suspension down. It has bars coming down with large rubber bumpers so when the suspension squats it sits on the frame. I dont find...
There are relays for headlights and a blinker module or relay. Check all of your relays. Some are 12v coil some are 24v. Some need the center terminal some don't. It's very confusing. You have 12v relays switching 24v and 24v relays switching 12v. You have to read the diagram on the back of the...
That should not happen. Try unplugging the ctis controller and see if any change. Maybe a bad connections somewhere. The plugs in the back of the trans ecu like to back themselves out.

The speedo and ctis speed measurement are fed off that stupid sender. The trans ecu uses it to decide shifts and all 3 are linked. Did you buy a new one? Sometimes it takes the ctis a few drives to clear the overspeed but the speedo should be right immediately.
The dash lights are all on one circuit coming off the light switch going thru the dimmer. Use a multimeter and diagnose it. Light switch has to be on at least the first click. Left bottom switch needs to be all the way up. Be careful when you take the dash panel off the plugs come out of the...
