PA - Fall 2016 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

I was asking because of bringing a load of scrap wood. I have lots that can get burnt up. See you there. Are you bringing the HMMWV?

CUCV head gasket / head/ or change engine survey

This is my Mule M1009 thread and today was a bad day. I was stuck in the yard. The ground is not frozen beneath the snow and the wheels just spun when I engaged the 4 WD. I hooked onto one of the GM tow hooks and the bubba rope and snapped the tow hook off the truck. I bought them tow hooks at...

CUCV Snow Plow Trucks and Spreaders

I have talked about this in the past. These CUCV's that I run I run 100% stock. i can not think of anything that is harder on a truck then plowing snow. Short of running it into a bridge abutment. I have NO auxiliary transmission cooler and never had an over heated engine or transmission while...

CUCV Snow Plow Trucks and Spreaders

I have completed a 27 hour endurance test of the Big Red CUCV. 2 tanks of fuel and 1 flat tire later. I have pushed pulled and drug vehicles from the deep snow. i have plowed a couple million pounds of snow and the truck is still in 1 piece. I put it away for the night in a heated garage. All...

CUCV Snow Plow Trucks and Spreaders

Still snowing here in Jonestown. I never bothered getting in the CUCV and going anywhere. I want to wait for it to stop. I had to take my wife to work she works in the medical field so I drove the Silverado. Much more comfort and I do like the stabilitrac very much. I was out using the snow...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Looks like a good haul. I thought I was the only one that saved and removed transmission cooler lines. I always seem to be able to copy a new set when I have an original uncut set to use as a template. I can't believe how many CUCV's I found with rubber hose in the middle of the metal lines. I...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The block is NOT needed as long as the top line goes to the transmission and the bottom line goes to the vacuum pump. I would reuse the nylon reducers and just change the line/hoses. But some people like that block on the VCM. NOT needed your option. What is this new page look? Strange I hope...

PA - Fall 2016 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

cybrockway. I just checked your schedule. It says something about a lakeside view getting a truck very muddy and having a blast doing it. But that would be great. The people at Rausch Creek are still talking about the 5 ton tractor going thru the deepest mud hole they have. NOT 1 Jeep has made...

    CUCV Arctic Grille Front

I will sell you an original one that I received with a CUCV 20 years ago. It is the genuine thing. Not a Knock off. It has a heavy quilted insulated front cover with all the seams coated in water proof sealer. I ran it a few years and then changed the lighting on the front and did not want to...

PA - Fall 2016 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

I never looked at it that deep. Call the park. I am going wheeling April 22, 2017 at Rausch Creek if anyone wants to go. I do NOT sleep over night as I only live 30 miles from the park. I have several friends coming up with me. Anyone is welcome. this is NOT a Steel Soldiers sponsored event. You...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

You have 2 flashers. 1 flasher serves the turn signals. The other serves the 4 way flashers. Before you get too excited check the flasher. Just switch the 2 . i think the lower one is the turn signals and the high 1 is the 4 ways. Give it a try and report back.

    Rear locker engagement

This unit can last you a lifetime of good use, just be careful and know the limitations of your vehicle. That is the key to life. If you decide to put bigger tires and lift kits on the old corporate 10 bolts you are just asking for trouble. They last indefinitely in normal to heavy duty use...

Lead them make the hole deep enough. They fall broken neck and no waste of kill area. Works every time.

    front drive shaft boot?

That only has 4 pleats. I guess that is why I was able to sell the ones I had at a premium. Someone wanted to be 100% accurate. The OEM ones have 7 pleats if anyone cares. Like I said apparently several people did care.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Both. This year we are going to be able to use assault type rifles in Deer season. They must have 5 round clips. That is a first for Pennsylvania.

    front drive shaft boot?

I am not sure what others are using. I have been in this same conversation a year ago. Parts are available but costly. I did away with mine because of lack of replacements and the are water traps once a small one gets in them. Tinstar. I will let you finish the story.

    front drive shaft boot?

Disconnect the front U joint and remove the Oetiker clamp from the driveshaft and slide the splined yoke from the shaft. If it were me I would remove the entire from propeller shaft and get it up out of the dirt to work on it. Good Luck. As far as the boot goes. They are discontinued and I just...
