    New V-100

Oh come now, just because I am.. um.. (concentrating - counting).. 27 months behind schedule, is that any reason to rush me?? :-D Part of what was done over the weekend was removal of the non-original gun depression limiters from the turret. I have seen these on a few DOE V100s, along with...

    New V-100

The results of a few days well spent. After a couple of days it is all dry now, green goes on Thursday. :-D Almost all the nice seafoam bits that were hanging on those racks before are bolted on inside now. Cheers

    Click click BOOM!

Very decent of you to man up and publically admit the mistake, therby hopefully saving someone else the same problem. [thumbzup] Good luck on the 4BT swap. Cheers

    New V-100

Thanks for the feedback on those tires B3.3T, helps me cement my choice. While the Michelins are still plentiful, they are all older than the Goodyears I can pick up near me. That and the Michelins make the vehicle 'bounce' at sustained low speeds (as in parade speed), at least on my M813...

    Hand brake warning light

Maybe post the picture on here so we can all see it? Cheers

    New V-100

Cool, thanks for the info. The picture shows how I have mine set up, I am more than happy to take suggestions on improvements! If it is much different than yours, can you show me your setup? I'm running on the original run-flat tires currently, but once I get the second set of wheels worked...

    New V-100

Yes Dave, you are in for some fun! The toughest troubleshoot was the shifting. With those long, spindly rods and levers, getting them all set right is a trick. You get second gear set where it snicks in smoothly and find that you can't get it into third. You get third tweaked in, move on...

    New V-100

Most of the interior bits are now in. All the openings in the hull are being masked off today, to be followed by the final exterior hull work before painting. Planning to roll her into the paint booth tomorrow or Saturday. I may actually get this finished before 2099, which was the new date...

    clansman info

Thanks for posting that. There is good info on the site, I used some for working out adapting the vehicle mount to hang the PRC-352 in my M1009's and running off vehicle power. Cheers

    24 volt nato jumper cables

Using the long cable is like wrestling a large, heavy snake, which is why mine is now semi-affectionately known as "The Anvilconda". Handy when you need it though... Cheers

roll call of EXISTING Vietnam gun trucks

"Have Gun, Will Travel" has been renamed, she is now "Bad Ass". Ed changed the name because he originally didn't realize there was a real truck of that name, and he was building the vehicle as a representative of the breed rather than a replica of a particular one. Ed met a member of the...

    CUCV ll

I don't have a source for the M1030 military-specific parts, sorry. There is a chap on here who has restored several who might be able to help, but I can't remember who it is (), I'll let you know if I figure it out. You might try making a "Wanted" post in the classifieds ads section...

    CUCV ll

Welcome aboard Harry. The CUCV II vehicles do not have M-numbers, they are not a standardized vehicle. Cheers

    Pawnshop builds a M116 flatbed...

Did you keep the parts with the bullet holes? Cheers

    New V-100

And the glacier grinds just a little further forward... All the vision blocks (and there are a lot of them!) are in and sealed. I was amazed at how much more 'finished' it looks with glass instead of empty holes. All the wheels came off so the backs of the rims, the hubs, and the wheel wells...

    Somebody SHOT my trailer!

Now that I know who Horatio is (thank you Google) I realize that he was there too. A friend of Reloader's, we were just calling him Homer. I thought it odd at the time, but now it makes sense. Here is a picture of him leaning on the trailer, we didn't get a shot of him sitting on it, sorry...

    Somebody SHOT my trailer!

And no, there was no alcohol involved in this tale of wonder, not one solitary drop! And the shooting was done down on our range with a suitably safe backdrop. There is a difference between fun and foolish. Cheers

    Somebody SHOT my trailer!

Well, boys being boys... Today we (me, Sarge, Pawnshop, Reloader64, and my younger son) were gathered at the farm dining on grilled beast. Pawnshop had his shot trailer with him, the holes came up as a topic of conversation and shortly we were gathered around looking at them saying clever and...

    New V-100

Thanks guys. And Dave, if you look at the pictures you will see that I do have all the grenade boxes after all. After searching around trying to find some new ones, turns out they were in a box in the shop the whole time, just hadn't looked in that one for a while. Doh!! You are...
