Cool truck, I'd love to see more pictures of it. We tend not to see much of the European trucks here.
I looked at one of its little brothers, the YA126, here a couple of years ago, but the condition and price were not remotely compatible so I passed on it. Seemed like a well engineered...
Okay, from my copy of FM 5-36 dated May 1985-
To get a weight classification, the following is used:
Weight (empty, loaded, and loaded for highway);
Load on pintle or 5th wheel;
Tires (number per axle, size and PSI);
Distance between axles;
Distance from nearest axle to pintle or 5th wheel...
However, Sarge insists it should be 42, which is the answer to everything! :razz:
(If you don't get that, I will explain).
Serious answer is the bridge weights are in some of the -10 manuals, you might check there too.
(Edit- I took a quick look through there, didn't find it)
Cheers
As Runk said, you can use anything already painted anywhere on the truck, or you can make something up and paint it on there and use it. I know one guy who used TP18! It just has to be in letters and/or numbers at least 2" tall and "a contrasting colour" (ie green on black, black on green...
Yep, already looking forward to Dayton.
Mr Carlson is a grand old gentleman who stands as patriarch to no less than four living generations of M151 (and derivative) collectors. Very spry for his age (mid-80s), sharp as a tack and with a great wit. What an honour to be able to spend time each...
There is what is becoming a tradition of taking photos of Scott (Reloader) asleep at each event we attend, he seldom fails us!
Your pictures are much nicer than mine. The light in there sucked for snap-shooter cameras like mine.
Cheers
Goodguyzy, take a look at this thread for some pointers on using the correct pins in the tow-bar feet. Somehow the difference in pins had evaded me up to that point too, and I was lucky on that one. I now carry the correct pins with me, even when I am NOT doing a tow...
A little known fact is that a popular movie was actually inspired by watching a guy replacing the dash lights in his CUCV....
If you master the technique, you too can change your bulbs without personal injury.

(A mind is a terrible thing to waste, I should be ashamed of myself...)
Welcome aboard! And that is one very nice Deuce.
If you want some like minded folks to come play with, holler at us at Lonestar MVPA-
Lone Star MVPA - Welcome!
We meet at 7pm on the third Wednesday of each month in the museum on Camp Mabry.
For what was locally known as "The Jeep Club" a few...
That is a USAF marking: 69- Year taken on inventory (may or may not indicate vehicle year model); K - tactical vehicle; 1626 - the 1626th vehicle added to the USAF inventory in '69.

Here is the thread for the last discussion. It is an adiabatic engine, which means it isn't cooled at all, it is designed to absorb all its own heat.

I'm waiting for Buckmaw to jump in and show his "hand throttle". :p
On the way home from Temple air show this year his accelerator cable broke, he finished the drive home using 550 chord tied to a Leatherman he held out the driver's window! [thumbzup]
I think Pawnshop has a picture.
Cheers
Thanks. And after seeing your work, I believe you know what you are talking about!
And the V is just what you said, tough and simple.
I continue to be amazed at just how well the V is thought out. I think I mentioned earlier in the thread about the front bilge pump- looking at it in place in...
Yep, I'm glad mine was in my driveway (though Scott's would have been more convenient) when it locked up. I could have been off in the boonies somewhere.
Scott does work for barbeque!! :D
Actually, of all the photos I took, the only one that shows your face, the glasses were off!
Cheers
Thanks Tim.
As many times as I thought I was seeing light at the end of the tunnel, I think the light is real this time, and getting a bit closer.
I really didn't understand what I was looking at when I took on this project, it looked like a big jigsaw puzzle I just needed to bolt together...
