Anyone seen a spare carrier like this?

Also stock on the Marine M813's with ISO beds like mine. As has been said, it is for the 14.00's. Apart from carrying your spare around, it is also apparently a good place for #1 son to sleep while waiting for those early morning Scout parades to begin! He probably wouldn't be able to do that...

    New V-100

Well, the glacier moved ever so slightly, but it moved. The V is running smoothly now, all the mechanicals are done, redone, tested, retested, nothing more to do there. We took her out for a run of about 10 miles a couple of weeks ago, the day before my son shipped out to San Diego for...

    LVOSS launcher

I would be very interested in a pair of the mounting brackets. [thumbzup] Cheers

    5-Ton Noise Levels

From experience, use a headset in the 813! It is a bloody loud truck. I have comfortably driven the M925 (and its brothers) with just earplugs, much quieter truck. Cheers

    what is this

Thanks 73m819, I rooted through my library until I found that book, it must be where I got my info from. For comparison, attached is a picture of Sarge's M1003, which is basically a MAN KAT used by the USAF as a support vehicle, along with M1001/2, when they had the GLCM fielded. For a cargo...

    Clansman radios

I was quite happily radio-less when Pawnshop showed me the PRC-77. Says me, frowning- "Yes, I remember those, they were heavy and people shot at you more because of the antenna". Says Pawnshop - "Indeed! But now you have an entire truck to carry it in, and folks usually don't shoot at you over...

    what is this

M-A-N, stands for Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nurnberg. In 1989 GMC and MAN teamed up to compete for the Army PLS contract. If I recall correctly only one prototype was built, and from the lights that looks like it. If so, as 73m819 said, it is powered by a Detroit Diesel 8V92TA, with an...

    Bridge plate numbers??

No problem. [thumbzup] Here is a picture of one of my 1009's. I know Marine trucks don't have bridge plates, but I like them and wanted one on one of my vehicles, so it's on there! Semper Fi, brother. .

    Hey Guys! Newbie from TX...

Welcome aboard. There seem to be quite a lot of cross-breed M101s, probably because they are relatively light and easy to swap beds on. If you had an A3 with a bad bed, and stuck a good A2 bed on it, to which the data plate is attached.... There are a bunch of us with M101s in/around Austin...

    Bridge plate numbers??

For a 1009, you should actually show 3 without the trailer, 4 with. Cheers

    Vietnam vehicles

My V100 came back from VN. It is documented as being delivered to the 720th MPs at Long Binh in 1968, and going through a depot level refit in Saigon in 1969. No record of it after that until the mid-70s when the Marines had it for guarding "sensitive national assets". According to the...

    Tires

If you are not familiar with tire/wheel sizes, the 21 at the end of 16.00R21 indicates that it goes on a 21" diameter rim. Deuce rims are 20". Apart from that, 16.00 tires are too wide to seat on the Deuce rims safely. Cheers

    M105A3 jack

Here is a picture of the jack/stabilizer (the manual refers to it as both, and it is used for changing the trailer tires as well as leveling. Pretty cool!). Thought I would go ahead and post it for Pawnshop since his trailer is parked out at my place. This is my trailer, Pawnshop's doesn't...

    New m1009...no lights

This panel is directly to the left of your regular light switch. Make sure the right one is in the up position for the lights to work. In 'All Off' none of them will work. The toggle is spring loaded, you pull it out slightly to clear the lock, then flip it up. It is all explained in the -10...

    Pulling M105 Trailer, Modified

As a Unimog owner and experienced trailer puller, I would not tow that trailer behind the Mog without trailer brakes either. My 2cents There are folks on here who will say "I pull my M105 at 100 mph behind my Mini Cooper....", but I don't want to be on the road when they try to stop! Cheers

    New to site.

I forgot I had these pictures until this morning. This is an M1009 that was parked outside the MVPA convention in Topeka. Markings appear to be original. The door markings look like 3" rather than 2". The "For official use only" are 1" stick on letters, the rest was painted. The markings...

    Roof-mounted Smoke Launchers?

The newer style (like in your picture) are pretty simple and would be easy to make up from PVC or ?? The tubes are actually plastic on those ones (at least the ones I have seen). The mounts are also very simple. The older metal ones are slightly more complicated as regards the base shape. I...
