Since your auction link will die in a couple of days (GL pulls completed sales fairly quickly) I have taken the liberty of posting your pictures here so they are not lost to the rest of us.
Nice score. [thumbzup]

Papabear, I know you already know this, but I'll throw it out there anyway for those who don't-
From my limited experience with a friend's GOER some years ago, when it gets up to 'speed' and starts bouncing, it gets difficult to keep it going where you want it to with anything resembling...
Here is a link to a previous thread on this, shows where the right fender was being rubbed, and the bit I cut off to resolve it.
The picture below of my second 1009 (with the same tires) shows where I whacked the same basic spot but in the left front fender well. Didn't take much, that bit...
Welcome aboard!
You can run 33's on the 1009 without any lift, I have 33x12.50's on mine.
Depending on the tire itself, you may get some rubbing on the front fender well edges at just the right angle/flex. Oddly enough, one of my 1009s only rubbed on the left fender, the other only on the...
The Federal Jetstream and Jetsonic are also period correct and work well, I got one of each of those for my 1009s after seeing pictures of MP vehicles wearing them. They are cheap too, I paid less than $100 apiece for good working units. And you can still buy parts for them.
Mine are all...
Not soon, I hope! [thumbzup]
Being a child of the 60s, the Phantom was THE fighter when I was young. It is still my all-time favorite fixed wing aircraft.
For my 14th birthday I received a copy of "...And Kill Migs" by Lou Drendel, which was my introduction to his superb artwork (see post 6...
Check the Roco/Minitanks/Herpa UH-1 kit for miniguns. When I built it many years ago it had all the bits to make a gunship, including two miniguns. They were nicely detailed for their tiny size. But that was 25 years ago, so check first before buying to see if the newer issues have that stuff...
The bridge plate is that yellow disk on your grill in picture 1 of your first post. It gives the weight classification of the vehicle and any towed loads for crossing bridges.
Weight rating is derived from some arcane formula that takes into account weights of the vehicle (loaded and...
The Marines used the slat grill only, the Army used both slat and tube grills.
Marine markings on the hood would be USMC, a space, then the 6-digit serial number (eg USMC 521763), all in 2" letters/numerals. The USMC also goes on the drivers side front and rear. The serial number is SOMETIMES...
Check your tachometer cable. Mine did exactly that a couple of years ago, it was the cable dying. Put a new one on, works fine. It is a quick and easy job.
Cheers
The lettering is most likely 3". Though 2" is standard for USMC/USN, from what I have seen of Seabee vehicles, they usually have 3" characters.
Welcome aboard Mike.
Cheers
If I understand the story correctly, the tube grill was the original one, but it tended to hold water and rust out.
With this in mind the Marines, who have a tendency to drive their vehicles in the surf, specified the slat grill when they ordered their M809 series trucks.
Army/USAF trucks...
Okay, if we are posting Mog/M813 pics, here is my set! :D
A couple more shots of Frenchy for Quarkz.
Also an odd van, along with Swiss command and flatbed versions, and a Mog with most of a VW camper on the back!
Cheers
Sweet! Thanks.
Check these out DF. For a tall truck, the are surprisingly stable. Note that one tilt picture below is a radio truck which is top heavy by Mog standards.
But you can tip them over if you work at it...
Cheers
My "Misc. Mogs" folder has 561 items in it (!) so I'll add some to this thread. Here are some interesting variations. I'll add more over time.
Most were found on the net over the years, so I can't credit the picture owner.
SixSpeed, that doka 404 makes me drool...
But then, so do...
Look for a thread by Sarge titled something like "Sarge paints his M820". It gives great step-by-step instructions on doing a 'motorpool' repaint. Sarge was a motorpool 1st Sgt in the USAF, so he knows from experience how it was done.
Cheers
Edit- Here is the link...
Welcome aboard and Semper Fi brother!
Many of the Central Texas folks do the Temple airshow the last weekend of April/first weekend of May. You would be more than welcome.
Cheers
