I am guessing this means they vary in size!
In one of mine they are indeed 5/16th, I had tried 7mm, they were too loose.
But 5/16th won't fit my other truck, too tight. That one has a lined interior and I thought it was because of the coating getting in the threads, which I have...
1- Train headed out for a run
2- The very elusive 'proper' bracket for large composite lights on an M416. Wish I could find a set!
3- On the way out after the show. Mkcoen's Deuce in the lead.
Cheers
.
Some more.
Almost all the old cars and trucks in the museum run. That 1924 Model T truck was giving rides to kids during the day. The train goes on a short run (2000' of track).
Cheers
1- Pawnshop on IH-35 headed to S.A.
2- And there
3- Mine
4- Mkcoen's M1010
5/6- The Landy
7- Lots of...
The annoying thing about them is they use metric and SAE! I have to carry both type tools.
I just bought bolts for the can holder in the back, if I recall they were SAE, I think 5/16. I'll go look in a bit and post the answer later.
I was trying bolts out in one 1009 and couldn't get anything...
If you are looking for non-firing weapons to use as decorations, look at the airsoft guns available now. The main reason for us in gun-friendly states using them is the cost, for y'all in unfriendly states, it may be the only acceptable way to go.
I bought a really nice airsoft M60 MG for less...
Here are pictures of mine and Pawnshop's M1009s at the Texas Transportation Museum event in San Antonio yesterday.
For those on here who called me everything short of a communist for flying my flag from my antenna in the July 4th parade, instead of the "proper" location, please note I also have...
There are very few things in this world that can't be made at least a little better by a nice hot cuppa!
Nice work on the repairs, and congratulations for getting it done so quickly. [thumbzup]

Ummm... the ground...
Doing an advanced motorcycle school (yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks, it just isn't easy), had a difference of opinion on the laws of gravity between the bike, the ground, and me. The bike and the ground got together to prove the point, I hobbled away...
Any flat black will do. I use Rustoleum high-temp barbeque pit paint because it is tough, very flat, and doesn't seem to fade as fast as others.

I have a 1009 in each pattern. Personally, I much prefer the newer pattern, looks less European or like bubba painted it. Some do prefer that one though.
My old pattern 1009 (Pigpen) will get repainted at some point, it will get the new pattern. Don't know if it will keep the big white...
Pawnshop and I are convoying down early Saturday. Both will be in 1009s. I was going to bring the 5-ton, but figured the clutch might be a tad tough to work with a fractured left tibia... :|
Viva auto-tranny when you are gimpy!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I LIKE it! But I think Phantoms are gorgeous planes too....
Always thought those Borgwards were cool trucks. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers
I had a '71 CST Blazer (back when it was a 9-year old truck..) that had the flip forward seat.
The front seats were low backed and had a metal panel that covered the entire back.
The positive side was that it made re-covering the seats easy, you took the back off and stretched new material...
Agreed. The green on the "old pattern" factory camo CUCVs seems to be tough as nails, but the brown and black paint was applied just thick enough to colour. On my ugly 1009, there are large patches where the black/brown has rubbed or faded off and left the green showing through.
As regards...
But not by Austin PD, it was in small towns outside Austin.
My son (one of those mentioned above) got pulled over in Round Rock, the officer looked at the paperwork, said "Cool, haven't ever seen this before" and sent him on his way. The officer later called me so I could help direct him to...
