Eddie,
Unfortunately, the tractor is down there until I get it...and it is way down the list. I have to bring my tan M925A2 and two deuces back first. If you can figure out a way to get it up to you, you are welcome to borrow it. That would actually help me get it half way home.
RE: Re: RE: MUTT JEEPS FOR SALE
My experience is that you cannot give away a cut MUTT. I always factor that in whenever I bid or buy something...how easily I could get rid of it if I wanted to sell it. Figure that in when you are negotiating a price. I'd say that $3K or less would be...
Eddie,
I have an idea for you. Go down to Winslow's place in NC. Pick up one of my M818s...and proceed up to PA to get your trailer. I recommend you grab the solid green one as it is cherry and runs like a raped ape. I'll take a look at your post.
Kenny, I only have one older trailer. It is a 1968 model. It is rust-free, has crank up landing gear and has near NOS wooden racks on it (all four sides). The trailer was shipped back to Ft. Drum from Camp Victory, Kuwait. All of the other trailers are the newer style.
Mike, if you inspected then you noticed that 64 is a non-turbo truck (as mentioned above) and was brush painted. Check out the tops of the bed sides, tail gate and frame rails...they were not painted. Personally, I'd push that truck out the door as quickly as possible. I inspected in, too. I...
James, I agree that the rearview looks wimpy with the singles...kind of scrawny looking. With that said, I like the XL tread pattern much better than the NDTs so that offsets things. I would consider putting duals on it...but the XLs cost so much (and are tough to find).
I'll add a bit to James' (M1075) response. If you run a tire like a Michelin 1100X20 XL radial, you can use the standard deuce rims. This is what the NG does. I have never seen a freshly released singled out M35A2 with rims other than the standard deuce rims. I have a singled out M35A2 with...
Hi,
I have a mid-80s M35A2C and have also owned a 1987 M49A2C. I was wondering if anyone knows which model trucks were produced in the 80s. I've only ever seen M35A2Cs or M49A2Cs. Did they make any other models (e.g., M109A3s, M36A2s)? Did any of the trucks have winches? It seems as though...
Yes, they are complete bows. A couple of the corners might have some surface rust on them...nothing bad. The wood ranges from definitely useable to very nice. They were on my old M101A2. I had to buy a complete set of bows so they came off. I would not have been hesitant to leave them on my...
The really cool thing you are going to enjoy is how different the truck is from your last one...I guarantee it. I've owned almost 20 deuces over the years and I've never owned two that sounded or drove alike. They each have their own personalities and quirks just like people. Congratulations...
With regard to the radiator, it might not have been the GL guys. The DRMO guys have been doing this stuff for years. I once saw an M52A2 at Lakehurst, NJ that had been shoved sideways about 20 feet by a forklift. I know it was shoved by the crushed fuel tank and the skid marks the tires made...
What about upstate NY...about 20 miles from Cooperstown? My family has a place there on about 100 acres. There is a huge field that is mostly cleared for camping, vending, etc (the field was completly cleared about 15 years ago for farming and has been mowed, but not for a few years). There...
That is BS that all the newer trucks have these light guards on them. If that was so most of the trucks that we have would have those light guards on them. That is just not true. Provide proof...
They are actually a nicer design because you can step on them but, I agree, they are not seen as readily. I don't have any info on their use. Just curious why MADDAWG thinks they were used with armor. Where did that come from?
