Atwater, I dont know if you are aware of this but with a litle research gear swaps are actualy easy on these trucks. the front (dana) may seem more dificult but if you use O.E. gears it is actualy very easy. The trickiest part is setting the pinion depth but if you have O.E. gears its cake. The...
it dose not matter for a 14 bolt ff. the detroit locker will fit ANY ratio case. as long as it is not a gov-loc...... The case break for the 14bolt ff is between 4.10 and 4.56. I belive this to be the same for the dana 60 also.
P.S. those early dodges w/ the 3.07 gears have Dana 61 fronts and...
8 lugs are great if you have tons of power and weight, why not go with a semi flot 14 w/ 6 lug axles? keep your same rims, less weight and better ground clearance than the ff and a TON stronger than the 10 or 12 bolt. oh ya, and your pinion yoke will fit it so you dont need a oddball u-joint
just a heads up, with only a 4 in lift and no body lift that avalanche enginering mount only gives you about 2in of clearance between it and the front axle. i had to switch to a 6 in because of this. and your cummins is gonna hate those 4.56's you are gonna wanna keep that engine around 2k rpm...
Head Wizard, read the post......... ITEMS ARE NOT FOR SALE. they are free. i want them gone quickly and to make it fair to members i posted them on here so i dont have to sit on them 4 ever while nobody see them in the "for sale/want"
I have three 6.2 cranks, fresh set of rods and a brand new set of pistons w/rings & pins all for 6.2's. I did not list this in the clasifieds b/c i need the room in my shop and just need the stuff gone (unless you might have something interesting you might wanna gimmie). If someone is close by...

well thats a good answer. cause now that i think back, when you do get one, you will be in it no matter what the temp is. Till you decide to go back inside and find a way to buy another.
