So.... i had to post this, i was looking on GL for michigan and MY TRUCK IS FOR SALE AGAIN ON THERE! LMAO! i alredy picked the truck up this summer. the m35a2 that is in grayling (the only m35) is my truck. im a lil confused as how this happend but i thought it to be rather odd. cool part is...
the pump is a factory GM part, just go to any part store and ask for a fuel/ lift pump for a 95 chevy 2500 w/ diesel. it looks about like a gas fuel filter w/ wires. as for the filter there are several uinversal kits on ebay. we used a large one for a semi on Rue_69 's truck. i belive he has...
if you wanna spend $$$ then just put a newer style 14bolt housing w/factory disk brakes....... thats what i have and you can buy any replacement part off the shelf for them. prolly get a whole axle for $500 and you will have the bigger pinion bearing and the stronger housing............ just my...
COPPER? WTF ! (bout as efective as plastic exhaust and wooden injection lines) well with that being said, figure roughly $1 per foot for a roll of line and $1 per fitting, if your doing it
yourself. you do the math.
Parttime, upgrade the fuel system, frame mounted electric fuel pump (primes b 4 the engine is cranking to purge any air) and a large spin on fuel filter. run new lines too. this upgrade = $200 and bout a saturdays worth of work. Then buy about $20 worth of dielectric grease and a wire brush then...
tighten all of your lines to spec DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN !!!, this is what probly cause the issue, i will post specs later (dont remeber off the top of my head) if you dont have them allredy.
are you against larger tires? i have 395's and a slightly cranked fuel screw and rum 70mph all day long, (seriously i drove it 7+ hours on the hwy in one day only stoping to get some food and again to leave it)
12vctd, you are the man if you can rebiuld the 208 in the truck........ i agree with the support berring being shot. you can get a repair sleave for a slip yoke?
pics of some wheels i biult using stock deuce centers and "wide" 5-ton wheels. mounted on 52's for the "big bobber". the "snap rings are on the back side". I will get some pics of the 2-piece tubeless 5-ton wheels soon.
just my opinion, but it seems like a lot of $ and time to put a problematic trans in the deuce. the only advantages i see are there might be a 6bt in front of it that could be installed w/trans (but its gonna be a 12volt electronic controlled vp44 engine) and it shifts a lil smoother. Down...
never seen a ring "POP" off if tire was deflated...............has n e one ever seen this? i have dissmounted over 50 of these in the last year, inflating is where you need to be carefull.
to dark to get many pics, guy in the pic is 6ft tall (used for referance). had to prove you can still get stuck w/395's HaHa. went through in the spot next to it with a little more speed and made it just fine.
i had a nv4500 w/6.5 turbo, 315/75/16's, and 3.73 gears in my 1028. would do 95-100. State police verified this for me
i think a 4500 and a lil taller tires and you would be fine
i forgot to mention, you will need a pedal assembly from a 85-91 ONE TON (or hydro boost truck) other wise...
