I was told that you get low on the heater blower by running only 12 volts to a 24 volt motor (I believe that is how it was described to me) so this makes sense.
Chris,
You can start that truck on two batteries. The two bad/low batteries must be dragging the others down. I only have two batteries in the camo M925A2 and you heard that one start when we were down in NC. Don't get me wrong...if it is bitterly cold, two batteries won't be enough, but the...
I remember someone on this list posting something to the effect of..."please post about trucks coming up because I sometimes don't have the time to search for them." It was a post back in January when this same topic came up. Obviously, not everyone knows about them all. Heck, I follow GL...
I know that no one wants to hear this after they have posted...but keep these things to yourselves. We all know about GL. IF other have not done their homework, shame on them. No need to alert those that don't care to put in the effort. You now have served to point out to the Internet world...
Here are a few pics of my old USMC M817 before and after. It did not look like in the BEFORE pics, but that truck had been overhauled just 4500 miles before I got it. I should never have sold that truck. Enjoy!
I usually pressure my trucks...no soap or scrubbing...and everything comes out clean! I am not sure why you'd have to scrub. Be careful not to set the pressure washer on the highest setting as you can literally write in the CARC with the water! I've never done it, but I've seen it happen.
Adam,
If you had posted this a year ago, I could have helped you. I recently sold the most cherry 1987 Navy M49A2C that I have ever seen (possibly the nicest original deuce I've ever seen). The Navy deuces are out there...but they are fairly rare.
I am sure someone with military experience will chime in, but I would bet that there is no correct direction for the field spades. To the best of my knowledge, this was a field modification (at least they were not on my M936A2). As such, I would bet these mods are subject to individual...
I've heard that same thing that IDA34 said. My question: why would the enemy want to target a shop van or a wrecker over a cargo truck that might be carrying troops? Is it because they are specialized vehicles?
Thanks!
The wrecker and the tractor definitely do not share the same chassis. With regard to how the wreckers ride, I think they are probably a better ride than the other 5 tons because of the extra weight.
jh1990, yes the troop seats, bows and cargo cover are for the dump bed, They are as close to new as possible without being new. I bought everything new and had it installed for a few months (under cover).
...and, by the way, if it the "troop seat factor" that you care about, I have the correct troop seats, bows and 3 color vinyl cargo cover. Available for an extra fee.
Why put a deuce cargo bed on it when you can put a real 5 ton dump bed on it? The dumps and tractors share the same chassis. I have, or will have shortly, a 5 ton dump bed. One stake pocket is rusted and the tailgate is bowed out, but, short of that, it is clean and complete. It comes with...
The M936A2 wrecker was slow off of the line...but after about 5 mph, that sucker really pulled...HARD! I literally mean that you could feel your butt sink into the seat each time it shifted. My M932A2 tractor is almost like a race car because it is fairly light (since it has no bed and it has...
I don't know if an M936A2 with a complete wrecker kit (and my butt) weighs more than an M925A2/M923A2 with a 155, but I've driven my old M936A2 from NC to MD at 60+ mph...no problems...plenty of guts. I've said it before...while I like the NHC250...the 6CTA 8.3 is a better motor. That motor...
