Yep. That would solve my lock ring problems for the spare wheels (haven't matched those yet..). Up for a shopping trip to Guatemala Jim??
Cheers
Very nice, thank you for sharing.
The Toyota "deuce" is interesting, the ARVN used quite a few of those too.
If you can't post all 200, any chance of talking you into just a few more??;-)
Cheers
While dabbling around looking at V100 pics, I found this one. It is in Guatemala, there are several Vs, the Armadillo from pic 2 above, and what appear to be two more M8s to the right and behind the main V. Anyway, I thought it was interesting.
Cheers
IHASFIP, PM me and/or Sarge, we'll exchange contact info and set up a time to go look at trucks with you.
Hoopsoft, apparently the 818 is happy now. We parked it in the pasture, but by next morning it had snuggled up next to Sarge's Air Force M35. Last time that happened, there were a couple...
There are several of us around here who will help out.
Are you actually buying one in Liberty Hill? If so, I know the guy you are buying from, I'd be happy to go with you.
Cheers
Wiper? What wiper? Isn't it great to have friends?
Actually, without that good wiper blade, the trip would have taken a whole lot longer!
By the way, we scoped out your gin pole truck while we were there, very nice! We didn't swipe anything off that one....
Sorry we didn't get...
Yep, Sarge will take good care of it.
I will post more detailed pics of the 818 itself when the monsoon quits, the current watery mess is not conducive to photography!
For various reasons I won't go into, attached is the only photo I will ever post of Sarge during his last MV recovery. He...
While Tuesday had been partly cloudy and around 75 degrees, Wednesday dawned a different day altogether. It was about 39 degrees, overcast and quite windy. There had been rain all night, but it was dry as we set off at 0-taintearlyanymore-thirty.
I quickly found that driving an M1009 with...
Sarge is still working on his M1031 recovery tale, to which he adds about three words a day, so he asked me to post this one.
On January 1st Sarge made a New Years resolution to not buy any vehicles in 2009. Between then and now he has only bought five, so he is really doing quite...
Yes, it was the one Earl had. Didn't drive it, but enjoyed the close inspection. The guns were a lot bigger than I expected. Too bad they were de-mil'ed, must be a ball to fire!
I like the camera idea, could be useful on a couple of my other vehicles, the M813 in particular. Good for...
Yep, it is loud. While driving, I was wearing a higher protection level headset than I usually do in my 813 (which is loud in its own right), and I was glad of it! On acceleration and going up hill it was very noticeable (read- punishing); at cruise not as much so.
Following behind, as...
50shooter, I just made sure the windshield was loose before I tried it on each truck.
I lock/unlock mine by reaching in through the windshield, which I close after locking. I do this when I am going to park it somewhere for a few minutes, and I know all it does is slow someone down while they...
The radiator and the shroud on the hood suggest that it is a Mk6 with the reverse flow cooling. However, yours has the smaller drivers seat of the earlier versions, so....

My 2cents...
There were two patterns for most vehicles using the 383 scheme.
The early pattern is in the left diagram posted by Militaryguy.
The pattern was later refined to the "wiggly line" style and more precise amount of area covered by each colour (45% green, 45% black, 10% brown) as...
After reading the "lock the door then close it" trick in this post I thought to myself "Rats! I've been doing it the hard way for years".
However, today I tried it on both doors of three deuces, an M813, an M818, and an M820. All of them unlocked the doors again as they closed.
Back to...
Very interesting vehicle Ezfeed, nice work you've done on it. I got to play with one a few days back, I noted the visibility from the driver's seat to be absolutely woeful! Still, I would enjoy having one.
Cheers
To prove that there are no absolutes, and there are always exceptions to the rules in the MV world, here is a picture of a camouflaged US Army V100 in Vietnam. This one came off Jeff's V100 Crew Member thread and was posted by Driver523 (who has also posted many other excellent period photos on...
