Okay, to the assembled Font of OD Knowledge, can anyone tell me the identity/designation and purpose of the semi-trailer in the attached pics? They are a bit grainy, but that's all I've got to work with.
Thanks and cheers
.
Gimpy, I thought that was a standard type plate, but I haven't ever seen another one in person, so I may have just embarrassed myself...
I took those pics in an M35A3, the extra stuff is for attaching the shoulder belts. I want to add something like that in my 813 since I am paranoid about a...
Dabtl, I will take one, (possibly two, waiting for a buddy to respond about one for his deuce he plans to put a gun ring on).
I'm sure someone has some better pictures, but here are a couple of one installed.
Cheers
Edit- Okay, this is for an M35A3, it is different from the regular one.
Very nice pictures.
You answered a question I had- I knew they had the V100 with the odd gun mount on top of the turret, and had seen pictures of the V with the "MP" on the side but didn't know where that one was.
And since some of us are never satisfied, you didn't happen to get any...
Take your air cleaner off and look on top of the engine, right side, there is one up there running from the front to the back and one short one. They are obvious when you look there. I had a similar problem to yours, replaced those top lines and all shift problems went away. Took 15 minutes...
Excellent. We have a modeling section here, why don't you start a thread there (so we don't hijack Jeff's anymore) and share what you have done so far? I would like to see your work, I'm sure many others would too.
Cheers
You will find that quite a few of us also like the smaller plastic versions of our 1/1 scale toys. And there is no better place to get details of a vehicle than from someone who has one sitting there.
Welcome aboard.
By the way, is that Mk6 as in EE F Mk6?
Cheers
The 800 series hood should fit your cab, since I believe from the firewall back they are all the same (I stand to be corrected if that is wrong). I am headed out to my place now, I'll measure up my M813 hood for you and post the info later this evening.
Cheers
For the shift problem, start with the rubber vacuum lines on top of the engine below the air cleaner. I replaced all those on mine last week (the old ones looked like they were made of sponge). Parts cost the princely sum of $6.23 including tax, and I had lots of hose left over when I was...
Quick side bar here-
Shane, I gather you are building the Hobbyboss kit, so by now you have figured out how inaccurate their V100 interior is (seems to be based on V150 and maybe some photo misinterpretation?). If that stuff is important to you, check out David Doyle's V100 Walkaround book for...
For contrast, here is one with an M105 bed. I believe the tires are 12.50s, but they are basically the same height as 9.00s, so should look similar. The pics came off Eflay a while back, don't know who owns it.
Cheers
This will give you an idea of the size of an M105 compared to your M1009, since my POV (Tahoe) is roughly the same size as my 1009. The M105, and even the M101, are a lot bigger, and heavier, than you would think unless you see them next to something to give scale.
I threw in a pic of the M101...
Hookpilot, welcome aboard.
Don't get bent out of shape by that rule, or getting told about it, you were not being spanked. One day when you have spent hours digging around and find a neat item going for a good price, then someone posts it here and the price triples (or more) within a couple of...
Hmmm... Where did you find the V150?
Looks like one of the ones that had the engine that didn't quite fit crammed in late in life..
Glad y'all made it home okay.
Cheers
I looked at the pics and said to myself, "Pretty cool. If he put the three knob light switch in, I'll be really impressed". Sure enough! Very nice, well done.
Cheers
Here is another interesting V100, this one from Venezuela.
Looks like a late model (M706 PIP) with the Wegmann launchers and the fuel cap protectors.
After you get over the shock of the white (!) hatch interiors, it is interesting to note the other local modifications- full width front vision...
Ahhh! Thanks 54, so the title shall remain in perpetuity as a monument to my failings as a proofreader...
Doesn't look like the canvas is in it, but there is stuff stacked 4' deep in the front half of the trailer. The canvas could possibly be in/under all that lot. We'll see in the...
Here is the shop trailer as of today. The rear door is back in place (it had a hinge broken off) and the flap thingy under the back end is now straightened out. Trailer is lockable again, so the tools in it should stay there, or at least be a lot harder to steal.
And I took a close up of the...
