The transmission has been rebuilt and the case welded. Also have a new shift valve installed. Drove it home from the shop today. It drives nice again. It must have been pulling out in second gear for a while because it seems to have more pull out power. Total bill in and out of the shop was...
The rear window has been replaced with a new one. Total cost was $220. $150 for the glass and $70. labor. It is a new Pilkington Glass rear window. Shame it is a new one. But I am short on used rear glass for the M1009. It looks good and is back in use again. The man cleaned everything and...
I imagine if they made a Duratrac 255, I would have bought them. I've had the Duratracs on the front for a while and like them very much.
I had 25585/R16 Goodyear Wrangler AT's on my M1028A1. They are only D range tires. They did not hit anywhere except the steering link when you made a hard...
Oh I think his steering is in the right direction. Counter clock wise is left and clock wise is right. He is having issues with a 30 year old truck not sitting level. I think he is going to get his concrete slab leveled and he will report back. First things first. No need to rush it has been...
After seeing the pictures it has lost a bit of the appeal. The Drings , pintle hook and brush guard are missing. And it has a rally wheel for a spare. Are the other wheels matching that one? If so it appears someone has robbed most of the uniqueness from the vehicle. You should be able to deal a...
Waste of a lot of good parts. But it is definite option for leveling. I used to like it when people scrapped their cars/trucks and drove them into the yard and they were basically scrap. I could run them thru the crusher while the engine was still hot. 10 minutes from the road to the scrap...
Lets back up a bit. I feel you have a starter support bracket missing and or loose of broken starter bolt. I have seen this issue many times. I myself have bought a few CUCV's that were code H because they had the starters loose and missing parts. And everyone that makes an odd sound does not...
26 MPG on highway seems high. But this is hard to make an accurate estimate of value with out even picture to look at. Many things come into play when buying a 30 year old vehicle. You say he is offering to add A/C. is this included in the $5K price. You must feel that this is what you want to...
Recovry4x4 the Goodyear Duratrak tires make your truck look BA. I have Goodyear's on all my CUCV's. I like The 31 x 10.5 x 15 Goodyear MTR Kevlar the best on the M1009's and the LT23585R16 Duratraks on everything else. i have a set of 225/75R16 Duratraks on the rear of a dual rear wheeled...
All in Fun My friend. I drove my little Mule M1009 to an auction today. They had lots of Chevrolet truck parts and a few old oddities. I bought a right door from an old truck for hanging on my barn.I did the research I know what it is for. I think it is cool and wanted it. Anyone want to guess...
I have my Crown of Thorns M1009 updated with stabilitrack , clean idle, anti lock brakes, DEF fluid tank and particulate burner and all I wanted to do was change the fan belts. Go figure I had to lazer the concrete slab I was working on, read my horoscope, change the motor mounts, torque the...
Easy. Get some 1/4 X 2 flat bar. Make the flat bar fit the current floor bolt configuration and bolt the flat bar in place. Remove the flat bar and make the new seats fit the flat bar. Use weld studs or elevator bolts to mount the new seats to the flat bar. Bolt them back to the floor via the...
I never trimmed them down. I will take a picture if you need one. But they make the lock stay nice and tight also and the entire latch works better for me.
I use hose washers on the wing window vent handles. They seem to last forever. I have a few green a few yellow black and red ones on different trucks. Easy fix and better then the old brittle plastic washers.
I am still guessing bad head gasket. I have changed a few sets old head gaskets on the 6.2 and sent the heads to the machine shop every time to have checked and planed. I have yet to have 1 that was cracked. Cracked is usually a result of major over heating. If you never major over heated it I...
