here is a shot of my hard top. it's for the 809 trucks. and deuces. It was originally on my deuce. and since I have another M66 ring coming I dont need the hard top anymore.
I was at CMS last yr when they were in bussiness. They were repowering 5Ton trucks with cummins engines for israel. I suspect this is a kit to do the same to the deuce.
I was told that they had a kit for the deuce as I asked them exactly that when I was there asking them about the 5ton...
RE: Where to get a pyrometer?
westach.com if they dont have exactly what you want they can make it. I just ordered one today for the 5T. even had them paint a red arch from 1200deg and up.
after looking over ron's 819 this weekend it got me to thinking. what are the differences in the crane/boom on the two trucks? or is their any differance?

there is no inner axle seal bc you have the cork and washer. no need for a seal like the front has. although it would be better. all you'd need to do is lathe down a smooth surface for the seal and make up a seal holder. too much work for something that wouldn't result in any improvement in...
I know where there is a nice M270A1 with a new deck on it for a decent price. :) I just dont think it will do what I want to do(haul cars) without a tremendous hassle.
