Put a vacuum gauge at the modulator, vacuum should replicate what a gas engine would be, 25 inches at idle and 5 at wide open throttle. If no vacuum the issue might be the valve on the injection pump, called the VRV. If you have plenty of vacuum, and a new modulator, the problem is internal.
We can help! Sorry for what your country is going through. Hopefully the opposition will prevail and democracy will return.
I hope you have a hand held voltmeter. Start the unit with only lighting loads and verify the output is stable. Flickering voltage will quickly burn up refrigerator...
Put the truck on Craigslist etc to see if you can re-home it. Pics posted here will help with appraisal. Scrap money after the trouble to process for scrapping is not worth it.
Here's a pic of these trucks over at Ft Carson not more than a year ago. Looks like a creampuff to me. Thanks to Lionel for providing intel that indeed these trucks have age related issues.
I have driven COUNTLESS trucks that were freshly excessed from Army service hundreds of miles for FDs...
Thank you for that report. Although you rained on my parade, it is far better to know this up front then after spending 10 grand thinking you were getting a creampuff.
In the pictures at Pennsylvania and Colorado, the trucks look like they were just recently taken out of everyday SF training ops, unlike the lot rot GP units which have sat for decades.
Antonio,
there are many many manuals for this ARV: hull, engine, powertrain, etc. None are available in PDF. You will need to find originals for the components you wish to overhaul. For the GAA, most systems are same as Sherman. I would also post over on the G503 website in the armor section.
