    Brake noise

Seems I remember GM having some stick on pads that were applied to the back side of the actual brake pads, basically they were soft enough to imprent the piston so when they were released the pad was indexed to the piston and would not move around.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

I picked up a firearm from an on line estate sale last night near Dinero TX so me an ol DuraVee went out today to do the paperwork and pick it up, the FBI was being as slow as usual so I went bottlebutten around the area while I waited, ended up putting over 100 miles on the DuraVee today. I...

    Wiring Question on M1165

That was to feed the radios, just follow it back to the source and remove it. after disconnecting the batteries of course.

    Wiring Question on M1165

Your probably OK there to use the 14V tap, not likely going to use all of them at the same time and even then it is just an intermittent load. In fact if that is all you are going to connect I would not even put a relay on it, just a good fuse at the place you tap the 14V, would it really matter...

    Alternator bracket bolts

I think Coug and RWH are correct, stabilizing the rear so all that weight is not "working" on the front mount is the key.

    Alternator bracket bolts

Adding a spacer will change the pulley to belt alignment

    Fuel shutoff solenoid

Use an ohm meter to measure the resistance of the coil, if you apply 24V the coil should be magnetized, if it is out you can test that with a screw driver, it should pull the piece of metal in front of the coil. You should also see an arc when you disconnect the jumper to the coil (that...

Q: Can I mount a rear winch with this bumper and retain the receiver?

When you don't need a ball you could just put a pintle hitch on a receiver tube and nobody would know the difference. (unless they looked real close)

Q: Can I mount a rear winch with this bumper and retain the receiver?

I guess you could put a receiver where the pintle hook is now and use a longer "drop" hitch, as long as you don't need the hitch at the same time you need the winch and are willing to make any mods to your bumper that might be necessary.

    Alternator bracket bolts

2nd vote for what Coug said about the rear brace.

    Alternator bracket bolts

I think this is what you are looking for, I was not paying attention if you listed the model, 2006 GEP could mean allot of things. But don't take my word on it, double check in the TM.

It does, so does the Detroit!

    Alternator bracket bolts

I think I listed the TM pages on that just a day or so ago..

    Wiring Question on M1165

I also want to caution you about 24V circuits, if you ever shorted out something on a 12V system it may not have been a big deal, on 24V using the wrong size wire, fuse and or workmanship/design can be catastrophic, even just a dirty battery connection can boil the terminal off of a battery in...

    Wiring Question on M1165

Well then you need to find out on how much power that device needs, ask the manufacturer, if it requires anything close to 60A you need to rethink the entire project as you cannot draw that much from the 14V tap, some say 30A max, I would not go over 25A. (30A fused) If you need 30A or more...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Well "Go Topless day" was not as interesting as I had hoped, they were talking about JEEPS! And there were a TON of jeeps on the beach and just about everyone else that had been using the Wohan as an excuse not to go to the beach, it was fully loaded for several miles before I left at 1pm...

    Alternator bracket bolts

They are metric, IIRC they are specked at 10.9 you could use 12.9, be careful using longer bolts as you can break out the back side of the casting causing all kinds of hell.

Q: Can I mount a rear winch with this bumper and retain the receiver?

No, the cable spools out right where the receiver is, unless you jury rig something.
