Ahhh, you got that truck, that truck started at 10k, got no bids and then was relisted to 8k and only your bid won it.
I think it's a good score, it's a serpintine 6.5NA setup but with a TH400 and 218 tcase. Ex navy truck.
i just missed bidding on it or it would have been a bidding war.
the truck went through reset...maybe it is, maybe it's not. I see the wrong sling data plates all the time.
GP had an M1025 that was a ragtop m998 some time back.
I can tell you all this....the only thing for certain is that nothing is for certain.
there was an M1097E "?" Up on GP tues, 10k opening, no bidder, recycled to 8k...one bid and sold, I missed it and would have paid 8k for it...it was a Navy Seabee truck with a 6.5NA serpintined, but on a TH400...
all you have to do is go to AM generals website...they have all the upgrades listed for the model truck.
you can also just google it....but FYI, these aren't H1's, so using an H1 model year change chart won't do much good for a HMMWV.
A single pic isn't going to tell you what year the chassis was mfg'd. But to ease your fears...a 1987 didn't have a 6.5NA with 4L80E and 242 tcase. If you go to AM generals website, you see that an M1123 is an A2 series truck, the M1123 was for the Marine Corp. and they added the MAK Kit on them...
An M1043A2 would be no real difference in an M1123....at least in the configuration they are selling the M1123's anyway. as action explained, data plates don't mean squat for the govt....I just bought 3 trucks, one has no year on the data plate.
i summized it is a 92-93 based on other dated...
Got 3...2 M998's and an M1038 with winch, all clean trucks, 2 are Army and 1 is Marine Corp.
all are Camo, all are exceptionally clean, got one for opening bid...I was the only bidder, which I don't understand cuz this was a nice truck and others that were lesser went for 2k more.
true...but a lot of those are active duty trucks, having not been to Yermo yet, I don't know where the GP people site is.
i bought 3 truck today...but I'm not picking them up when it's time.
I decided to google maps Yermo California....go ahead and take a look at that!
impressive. One lot appears to have hundreds of shrink wrapped HMMWV's ?
another lot appears to have a whole bunch of M triple 9's "howitzers"...
these trucks are not speed demons...so even once you get it dialed in, don't expect miracles.
not sure if you have ever driven a HMMWV before you bid and bought...the shifting pattern is normal.
If the 14v tap is not used , it needs to be grounded to the regulator mounting bolt. If you have a 4L80E setup "OEM" it goes to the rear battery positive to charge the rear battery so the TCM does not create an imbalance in the batteries.
the TCM is 12volts...and is connected to the rear battery...
Loose starter bolts in general is a known issue in the HMMWV and Hummer H1 world....just like Halfshaft bolts, that another check torque monthly item....and upgrade the rear support bracket to the "Hook" type.
They weren't developed for the masses, they are implements of war....I hear the same thing about weapon sales.
we are lucky we can still by M1 Garand and carbines from the Govt, and soon...M1911A1's for the first time in 40yrs or more.
Come on guys...do your research, it's all over the Internet. The HMMWV is not slated to be out of the inventory for 20 more years. M1151's don't cost 40k, more like 175-250k depending on variant.
We are only getting ragtops....there are no more soft skinned vehicles being produced for front line...
