FWIW, if the truck went through reset, the spindle nuts were changed out to the new style...another tell tale sign is red RTV on the steering arm cover....I really only encounter the old single tab spindle nuts on the 99 auction trucks.
the newer 2 tab nut was an MWO and was required to be...
I have a few 218's in the shop...do you just want the case or the entire assy? These would pay require opening and resealing the case and new seals. Can't vouch for the cooler loop either.
This email address bounces back as invalid....
I'm thinking of bringing my M1078 or HMMWV, just depends if I'm off duty at Travis in time.
It appears you can't just show up? Please advise...thank you
The value of the GP trucks is comparable to 99 auction trucks...a lot of that due to the fact they are titled.
here in my neck of the woods, I'm seeing HMMWV's selling for 11-14k, with tax and final valuation fees, that truck is approaching the price of what I was paying for 99 auction...
Update...OP called me....nice guy. After along conversation, we are good. Don't want to go into detail out of respect for his wishes, which I fully understand. Suffice to say, he has been around along time in this business.

from the factory they have a plug and then RTV squeezed all over it for good measure.

All the windshields use the same leafs... they all have the capability to fold down...they are mounted on 3 forward pivots and 2 rears left and right that the pins get removed...slantback has a fixed plate inside instead of the removable pin as it can't fold down due to the roof...but it's the...

Because the rim was not designed to run without them. The bead area is a different angle then what's on a standard rim that allows the bead to seat. I have shop tires I put on 12bolt rims, if they go flat, they literally fall off the bead just sitting...not the case of a normal auto rim, you can...
let me muddy the water even further...they are 2 versions of 12 bolt, early and late style, late style can be spotted by the
addition of a lone centering hole, they also have galvanized studs, use the red O-ring and 1 piece run flat.
the "early version of the 12bolt used No centering hole, used...
correct...the procedure is in the TM, it requires a feeler gauge.
one way to tell if its too tight is to rotate the spindle after you torque the 4 bolts, it should spin freely. I have torqued them and had it tight, add a shim and its spins freely.
the book shows only 1 thickness, but I've found...
