If the trans controller is not powered, cranking is inhibited. I would send the controller to transmissioninstruments.com for evaluation and repair if needed. Check the connectors on the unit for looseness when you pull it.
The problem is caused by the reduction cone clutch sticking. If you don't use low range, the cone should not get stuck. The "acts like park" is the high and low range applying at the same time due to the stuck clutch.
Looks like they gave up on them. Waiting for TFS to take them back to Lufkin. Where they will continue to sit. And never be auctioned. And eventually be turned in to DRMO to be cut up. Sad.
Buy the nicest unit you can afford from GP. That is where all the flippers are getting units from. Most assuredly your sweat equity is cheaper than the "builders". And you won't end up with a "lacquer overhaul".
