    You done take it apart....you cage it with the provided tool, remove the outer band and the entire chamber comes off, the spring you refer to is on the caged side in the large chamber....NEVER take that apart. I talked with big rig shop and the guy said that even if caged, he has seen broken...

    How do you know it's the temp gauge? Could be the sender or the wire...bad ground. I've had all three issues at some time or another. But if a bad gauge, replace it.

    carc type 9 in a shake can

    I know of none...I use PWC, its Polyurethane but the green is a shade or 2 off...it says its CARC, but its not...as it come off with Acetone. best bet is to touch up with an Spray gun and use real CARC.
