You either have a broken bolt or a missing bolt. 2 bolts hold starter to block in addition to the front bracket.
It makes no difference if original or aftermarket starter.

I would check the fusible links connected to the 12 volt diamond on the firewall.
I had a similar issue once losing power to the switch and it was one of these fusible links. M1031 was running and died. It fried one of these fusible links.
Your problem started when you filled up with contaminated fuel. Get rid of the bad fuel completely. It is on the bottom of the tank. Quit trying to push it thru the pump and injectors. Injection pumps and injectors do not like water or trash.
