In my experience, this is caused by moisture entering into the exhaust and shooting out upon start up. I don't believe this is caused by anything discussed here. It happens on trucks without a catalytic converter, too.

Eastern Surplus in Philly has running take-out 6.5 NA engines. Last I checked, they were going for around $2K, maybe just under. A friend bought an engine from him and they sent him a video of it running. I'd check with Eastern (ask for Bill Peaslee).

I believe the prior owner will need to register the truck, which, I believe requires insurance in GA. Once he has the registration, he can sign that over to you just as he would with a title. There will be costs associated with the title and insurance that you might offer to pay to get him to...

I had a nicer M416 trailer that I sold to another SteelSoldiers member for $750 without a title. I had the paperwork to get the title and told him it would be $1000 with a title. He opted for the former.

That is the fuel tank selection switch. I believe there should be a data plate under the switch that indicates left and right.

If cost isn't an issue, or if I planned to put a lot of miles on my truck, then synthetic would be my choice. However, personally, I always use non-synthetic. I drive all of my trucks a sum total of a few thousand miles a year...so not much per truck. I almost always have to change my oil due...

I suggest you stress the value of the vehicles that are owned. Canceling titles will impact the values of your vehicle(s).
