My posts showing up to me as unread

I've just noticed this within the last couple of weeks or so. I'll post a reply to a thread and then, in a separate window, reload "Today's posts" and that thread that I'm the last poster in shows up as "Unread". Example: I would think if I am the last person to have posted in the thread that...

    Tire Crazy

I'm no expert, but that doesn't seem like a good idea. The 9.00R20's on the inside wouldn't be touching the ground (I assume you meant by "automatic dual" as they could touch the ground when off roading? I wouldn't want the inferior tread). Also G177 11.00R20's are not considered "super...

    Papabears trucks

:funny: He has posted ads of his trucks for sale in the Classifieds on this very website. If you click the "Classifieds" button at the top of this web page then open the "Vehicles for sale" forum. You can browse all the vehicles various SteelSoldier's forum members have posted for sale (note...

Upgraded deuce's tires to Goodyear G177 11.00R20s (dualed)

You're very welcome! Use at your own risk though! ;)

Upgraded deuce's tires to Goodyear G177 11.00R20s (dualed)

Bumping this thread because I just updated Post #29 on Page 3 with the calculations to show how accurate speedometer readings will be for a deuce running Goodyear G177 11.00R20s both with the stock 1:187 and 1:200 adapter. I believe I've also determined the proper speedometer adapter for...

    Speedometer Adapter Leaking Gear Oil

Okay, call directly like last time. Thanks! Changing the speedometer adapter will result in a closer speedometer reading and thus, more accurate mileage count on the speedometer. You can "do the math" to calculate the difference between your displayed speedometer reading versus your actual...

    Speedometer Adapter Leaking Gear Oil

The revival of this thread reminded me that I wanted to order another seal because I'm changing my stock 0.187 ratio speedometer adapter to the 0.200 ratio adapter (for 11.00R20 tires). Cross reference to this research post on my thread about the NSN and Part Numbers for various truck's...

    Speedometer Adapter Leaking Gear Oil

You're welcome! No special disassembly at all. Just exactly as you said here. When you have the adapter separated from the transfer case, before adding the seal, I would recommend taking off the end of the adapter that connects to the speedometer cable and cleaning it out with, say, brake...

    Speedometer Adapter Leaking Gear Oil

I also want to note that this year I drained and refilled my transfer case oil and continued to have no leaking issues.

    Speedometer Adapter Leaking Gear Oil

I did not put thread sealant on the adapter where it screws into the transfer case (nor was there any in the first place). I have not noticed any leaking in the past 1+ year (I presume because it's only taking splashed gear oil and is not submerged). My "gut" guess is that thread sealant...

    Northern UT chapter

Not to turn this into an advertising thread, but are you folks associated with the Freedom Festival? I know at least one fellow in the Utah Military Vehicle Club that's heavily involved in that. Or are you working to become more like BigTuffTrucks, PlanBSupply, or Boyce Equipment?

    Northern UT chapter

Hmm, I never saw or replied to this thread.... Maybe you shouldn't have moved months after we met! rofl My gut feeling is that you'll be unlikely to find that rotating schedule at a mechanics shop (but what do I know? lol). If you do think of Cache Valley, I recommend checking out...

    Wheels

Hello Matt! As you can see above in 98G's pictures you don't have to flip the rear hubs. If you look closely at those pictures the rear are (I believe what's called) "deep-dish out" where the front tires are "deep-dish in". Some prefer the look that way, others will flip the rear hubs to have...

I suggest starting a post in the "Pay it Forward" forum for giving items away.

Looking at buying a deuce and I have a couple questions

I could not agree more! So, CUCVLOVER, do you have any more deuce options for us to talk you out of?

Looking at buying a deuce and I have a couple questions

Thanks Akicita, I didn't know that there were bolts designed to do the same thing. Do you know what kind of shear bolts will fail at the same point the shear pins would have? Perhaps it can be a cheaper option than $8-$10 ea that most vendors ask for the pins.

Changing caster angle solved problems with G-177 tires

You bet. So, to recap the whole thing. On August 08th, 2015 I had my stock NDT 9.00R20s dismounted and Goodyear G177s (11.00R20s) mounted in their place, reusing the stock wheels. I maintained duals in the rear despite the fact that the tires are rated for enough to be run as singles even on...

Looking at buying a deuce and I have a couple questions

Welcome to the world of deuces! I hope you find a good one. Even though you're passing on this one, I did have a few comments: I disagree, those look like Michelin XLs. Michelin XL's have that tread pattern. If I had to do a wild guess, I'd say 15.5/80R20 Michelin XL (~46.5" tires). Example...

I Start Changing Out Head Gaskets Today

Thanks, both of you, for replying back! Your blow-by progressed, as in the issue got worse, or something else caused engine needing to be replaced? Or you don't know if the issues were related? When I was parking yesterday (backing up) I thought I had an exhaust leak because from the...
