In my digging around, this thread here described what I thought I saw. When I was backing my deuce into my garage yesterday (20 mile drive, running around 2200 RPM, ~86 F outside, engine temperature seemed to be a constant 180 F) I could SEE (from the driver's seat) what appeared to be exhaust...
Boyce Equipment just welded the retaining blocks on either side without dismantling the U-bolts. Should hold. Though I'm not an expert but the weld doesn't look very deep or high onto the added block, and it would have been better had they welded on at the front and back of the added block. But...

Here's one of their threads:

I've never transported through them so I have no feed back to provide other than seeing them post here on SS.
I'm a big fan of the built in gauges, and fuel flow labeling on top (More pictures of those!). Top notch work for sure! I'm with rustystud on wanting one!
Rusty, thanks for all the pictures and measurements. I know it's no small amount of time. You are a stud!
I hadn't considered the tires touching in the center of the trailer, but, of course, it makes sense. I agree with you on the size of tires. After watching the guys who did the wheel swaps...
That is because the 8 is immediately followed by a close parenthesis ')', which the forum auto replaces "8" ")" combinations with a sun-glassed smiley face. If you "Go Advanced" when posting you can select the "Miscellaneous Option" of " Disable smilies in text"

I had a friend...
I put 2 of these batteries from NAPA in my deuce in 2013. I have the metal battery box and they just barely slid into the battery box (the short way). I used a ratchet strap connected to the bottom of the battery box to hold them down. There's still some room on either side.
I assume "BCI #...
Thanks peashooter.
I'm still trying to get used to my air assist steering, as I drove my truck for 4 years on the stock NDTs with no assist. Last week I drove my truck to Boyce Equipment (16 miles) for them to fix a broken locator pin on the front axle. So I drove with the air-assist turned...
I really like this idea and I was looking to see if I could perhaps do similar with my larger Goodyear G177s.
So a number of questions there rustystud if you don't mind!
It appears that you modified how the front of your cargobox attaches to the frame. I have this spring assembly on my M105...
Last week I purchased a yellow bottle torch (Max/Pro gas). I believe it was able to put more heat to the axle housing than the blue propane torch, but not too much to hurt my axle seal about 1 foot away (my opinion). I also purchased an air chisel (or air hammer). I heated up the axle housing...
You are correct on both accounts that short running gas and diesel engines is bad on them both.
The issue that's more diesel specific is running a diesel engine for a long time with little or no load. Diesels generally are much slower to warm up than gasoline engines and can cause "wet...
Excellent point about the batteries!
One comment though, warm air will hold more moisture than cold air (it's why Antarctica is actually the driest place on earth). Also, to create condensation that you're describing you need warm air hitting a colder object. When the temperature of the air...
That's the first time I've ever heard of used vegetable oil referred to as grease. I mean, I grease the pans at home with butter...
Anyway...:nothingfunny:
I just wanted to respond to say that your posts weren't ignored, but I don't have any knowledge on the subject to share. I actually didn't know that there were two different kinds. I have only ever seen ads selling the Grote LED lights.
Honestly, not a lot of other reasons, no. More spares and it was less work not to flip the hubs. (I realize the irony that one has to "work" for the money for 4 more tires, but you get my point).
