Derrick, do you mean FL120? The M916A1, M916A2, and M916A3 are all FL120s. I did a Google search on FL80, and I have never seen a military truck of this model. That doesn't mean they don't exist. Perhaps, you have something I have never seen! :) If it is a modern truck, and by the sound of...

    M-715 woods recovery

Congrats! I think that truck looks fairly straight. Let us know if you when you get it running! Good luck!

    Source for 6TL Battery

I hate to say it, but I kind of agree. I have rarely gotten good use out of my 6TLs. I am sure a lot of it has to do with how most of us use these trucks (i.e., they tend to sit for extended periods of time). However, I drive my M925A2 a good amount and start it regularly...every month for...

    Source for 6TL Battery

Very nice. I think I remember another thread where you discussed this, no? I don't remember if you said this...why six batteries? Four were not enough cranking amps? Six at 780 or so CCAs seems like quite a bit...but I am sure you have your reasons. Curious about this.

    Tire selection

I'm a Goodyear MV/T fan based upon looks, admittedly. I have the Michelins on my truck, though, because that is what it came with.

    Source for 6TL Battery

Check out Walmart 24Fs for around $93 each. They generally fit into the stock location on an M939 series truck (I recognize this thread is about FMTVS...but I'd check them out). They are not a perfect match by any stretch, but they fit width-wise...they are just short length-wise. Still the...

    47,000 miles?

I had an M1028A2 dually that I bought from a fellow member that had a decent rubber pad on the pedal that did not look replaced. Who really knows, though. Still, I believed the mileage...93,000 showing...based upon everything else about the truck. The engine was clean, the seat showed no wear...

    47,000 miles?

I'm going with 147,000 miles. It's a guess, but check out the brake pedal. It looks like the rubber is worn through. I have a 1997 Chevy diesel crew cab that has 83,000 miles, and the pedal doesn't look anywhere near as worn as the one in the picture. The rust, in and of itself, does not say...

M923A2 BMY 1988 8.3L 6CTA Cummins Belt Tensioner and alternator pulley

The alternator pully is a tough one to find. I got one from John Murray from TNJ Murray in Dover, DE. When I got one (several years ago), John told me that he only had one more. Perhaps, he got more or maybe he never sold that one. It is worth a try.

    HMMWV Sealant

Would welding the seam be a solution? I can see how it might be a problem if you wanted to remove a body panel. But, I bet 99 times of 100 you won't be removing those body panels. Best of all, I think a nice weld will actually be cleaner looking than the factory caulking. Just a thought...

    FMTV cargo cover frame assemblies

Does anyone know if the FMTV cargo cover frame assemblies (the bows that hold up the cargo cover) are modular? I have an M1085 LWB cargo and I have been unable to find a complete cargo cover frame assembly. However, I've seen plenty of them for the M1078s and M1083s. Could I buy a couple of...

Aluminum vs Steel Hard Kit Top Pros and Cons

I really should have asked a question first: do you care about the top you put on being correct, or do you just want a slant back on it? If you just want the look, then I'd suggest the repro top. It will be cheaper and, being aluminum (not sure of the top, just what you said), it won't rust...

Aluminum vs Steel Hard Kit Top Pros and Cons

Well, I try to err on the side of "correct." People probably won't know, but I will. So, I always try to get the real stuff. Others will disagree. That is fine. I like my trucks to be original and correct, and VERY rarely do I violate that. It tends to cost me a bit more, though, and it is...

Help! GL lost my EUC, closed my account and is trying to charge ME for it!

I can't help, but, yeah, that sounds about right for GL. They screw up and then blame you. I've been screwed by them a few times. Guys complain about GovPlanet; GL is far worse, at least based upon my dealings with each.
