Passenger Hammock For Small Critter Friends

At least I'm not calling a 100lb lab small! I usually tell folks that I had to get the deuce to compensate for my small dog, or vice versa.

Passenger Hammock For Small Critter Friends

In my original post, yes, yes she is. :-) They're called "Mutt Muffs": http://www.safeandsoundpets.com/index.html She's ~10 lbs and is wearing the x-small size. It is a bit difficult to put them on solo, and she does not like them. But she sleeps during all 'car' rides so she keeps them on...

Passenger Hammock For Small Critter Friends

If you've seen posts of mine before, you may have seen I like to take my little dog with me on trips and parades in the deuce (where appropriate). Such as the following: The problem for me, or rather my dog Dusty, is that she bounces around and has a hard time staying on the passenger seat -...

Front axle seals and boots stepXstep

I tried to follow this author's great article because it was more detailed and better for the way I seem to learn than the -20 Unit Maintenance TM. However I think I have messed up (once again) and damaged what the inner axle seal seats into (this article's author refers to it as the...

Street Legal Idaho + Cross International boarders

I'm sure the folks (Alex) over at the Idaho Motor Pool in Fruitland, ID (near Boise) would be pleased to help you (also sure they'd be more pleased if your truck was purchased from them). I've heard nothing but good things about them, but I've not had any business dealings with them. Still, Alex...

    Hello and introduction

Nice acquire! I'll second the thought of how clean it looks. :ditto: In Utah I believe that'd be an expected price for a nice, clean, lighter trailer like that. Personally, I would avoid modifying the military plug and wiring. I would use adapters (expensive though), or magnetic lights...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Juuuuust got started on servicing the front axle. This is a big "first" for me. Following that awesome "stepXstep" article by Banshee365: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?8460-Front-axle-seals-and-boots-stepXstep I've only dug into the passenger side, but so far the axle and brakes...

    M35a2 block heater

My opinion is that the starter should always be able to turn over your engine -- whether it starts or not is another matter entirely. If the starter can't turn over the engine the first place I look is the batteries, then check for bad starter components, relays etc, then other engine problems...

Elbow Flashlights Rebirth with LED bulbs

You betcha. Good for those old, 2-battery (3V) non-military flashlights too if they use the same bulb. ;) Also, my elbow flashlights had a place holder for a spare bulb in in the battery compartment (beneath the coiled spring). If you don't have a working spare bulb there, it's a good place to...

Elbow Flashlights Rebirth with LED bulbs

I breathed new life into my old military elbow flashlights that used the battery sucking, incandescent light bulbs with these brighter, longer life, lower power usage, LED drop-in replacement bulbs. I should have done this years ago. I had stopped using all my old incandescent flashlights...

What do you do for seeing behind you?

Thanks everyone. My mirrors are set to see to my sides (the spot mirrors aren't viewing as far out - but the objects are too small/mirror too shaky to see behind me), so unless I lean over, I'm not seeing what is in the lane _behind_ me. I thought it'd be better to make it easy to see what is...

What do you do for seeing behind you?

I recall reading a story about an older gentleman in California that "lead" Police on a "low speed" chase for over 10 miles because he didn't see them back there.
