Several years ago before my MV ownership, I learned that I had my mirrors set wrong on my little truck, and have been a firm believer of the change ever since.
I had watched an informative video, kind of like this one (it was a better made video, but you get the idea)...
That's a mighty cool idea, the wheel bearing between the two plates. But yes, I have amended my errored ways and did my measurements properly this time, full weight on fronts. Thanks for the additional Tire Pressure tip too - I do have a front winch.
What Monroe shock number did you order/use Jeepsinker? I used the 66605, and I had zero problems with the bushings. The shocks fit perfectly in every way.
Each shock came with 2 baggies of the following:
Note 1: I did not need the metal shaft spacer, as the shock mounts on the deuce were...
I pulled the deuce out of its "winter storage" and did a proper alignment check on it (as the TM specifies, all tires on the ground, driving forward...)
I used paper staples pushed vertically into the center of the tire, and measured. I then drove straight forward until the staples were the...
Welcome welcome!
Take pictures of the crack, the routing and of your fix - and of course your whole truck. Everyone loves a good story, pictures, and a successful fix!
No, not by itself. It requires manual action by the driver to get out, pull the retaining pin, swing the cover down, and put the retaining pin back in place. The pin holds the cover both open and closed (no flopping around either way), and the clip keeps the pin from coming out. Like a giant...
Wow! That'll be a great trip! I wish you the best mechanical wise and in school.
You'll likely be driving right past me here. I'm about 20 miles north of Salt Lake City, UT, right off the interstate (unless you take the I-80/I-84 route into Utah from Wyoming, then you'd be about 10-15 miles...
Thank you Jeepsinker for the grinding tip - that'll save me from panicing later. Also, as mentioned earlier, I had read conflicting reports on the success of replacing the shocks. Seems now that far more than I had believed are reporting replacement as helpful.
Did you check if your shocks...
Since going to super singles was a suggested mitigating factor, do you know how, or why, super singles help prevent said tire scrub? Would my desire of going radials all around but still having duals in the rear with super singles in the front (without locking out the inner axle) still be met...
Thank you very much peashooter!
For the record, I found RockAuto.com + shipping was cheaper for me over Amazon with free shipping (and anywhere else I searched locally or on the web).

And the Monroe 66605 was only a few dollars more than...
I have not changed the shocks. What was suggested in multiple threads was "Monroe 66903" shocks. Does anyone know if this is still the case?
That's a very good point. It crossed my mind in the writing of the post, but I dismissed it. I should remeasure just to be sure. Thank you.
I realize that there are a lot of threads on this.
I have stock 9.00x20 NDTs, and my deuce does have the extra weight up front of a winch. I check tire pressure regularly and run them per TM specifications of 50 PSI. Due to outside wear, or cupping, of the Passenger Front tire I thought I had a...
Now that I know a thing or two.. I like how they've modified the top of the cargo cover with a "sun roof". (not practical for water intrusion reasons - but worked for Hollywood's need to get more light into the back of the truck so the audience could easily see all the gear and ammo)
