Same here. I bought some trucks in Mississippi and they charged 5% tax. I had to pay Louisiana the additional 3.75% once i proved I already paid the MS tax. BTW in the Paid in Full Invoice it states the Code and tax paid. That is the document you need to send LA DMV as proof of tax paid. It...
With all the crazy laws in the books on the Federal, State and local level I would bet your are in violation of at least one of them and don't even know it. It's been discussed on Fox news and other news organizations before. I bet even lawyers are not aware of every law out there.
Maybe you should start a pole to see how many members title their MV in the state they bought the MV VS the state they actually live in. SO why does GL assume we will title the truck in a non-resident state instead of the state we live in?
The only truck that I know that comes with a liftgate is the M820A2. It has to be the A2 variant to have the liftgate. That does not mean there are no other trucks with a liftgate. I just never seen one.
I have a complete bench seat out of my M820A2 available. $50 gets it. Stainless steel fuel tank and support brackets from M939 for $200. M35 or M818 series windshield frame (outer frame) for $50. M840 dolly set (trailer) for $475 with title or $375 with Bill of Sale only. Onan RV generator...
Here are a couple of pictures I took of the truck in the rain today. The color of the paint looks a lot better when wet. It is a better example of how nice the truck will look when I finish repainting it.
Could it be what they call a bypass oil filter. I installed one on my first Deuce. It slowly filters the oil to a much finer level so it will last longer between changes. It is an add-on not a replacement for the original oil filter setup.
Going to keep it mostly original. No camper plans. I will use it as an inclosed cargo truck. Also the liftgate makes a great work platform for repairing equipment. Adjustable height and plenty of room for tools and parts.
I decided to do some preliminary inspection of the truck today. Put the transfer case in Neutral and the tranny into neutrol. Pulled the PTO engage lever forward while holding the clutch in. Started up the truck and could see the PTO shaft turning the hydraulic pump for the liftgate. I...
I forgot to add some interesting info I found out about this particular truck. I noticed 2 faded stickers on the truck that I have seen on another truck before. One was on the front of the driver side fender and the other was on the driver side door. They are travel stickers. This truck was...
I was just at the right auction at the right time. I was shocked that I was not outbid! I have been outbid on auction many times with only 2 minutes left.
Thank you Richard. Me too. That is what I missed the most about the truck. I was using it as a drawbridge for transferring cargo between my truck and a semi. I also used it as a work platform for servicing equipment (since I could adjust the work height)
I finally brought home my newly acquired 1971 XM820e2 from Jeff Davis's compound near Camp Shelby. I want to thank Jeff for the recovery, storage and assistance in getting it road worthy.
I purchased this truck 5 years and 1 day since I purchased the same model truck from Fort Polk, LA. I...
